There's so many backrowers in the NSW team. Crichton, Frizell, Jurbo starting & Finucane, Brown & Yeo on the bench. The problem is which one of the starting 2fr will play big mins.
Also only 1 prop on the bench. One of those bench 2fr will obviously fill in at prop or will Haas be the one in that pack aside from Cook who plays the most mins.

Jurbo, Finucane, Brown, Yeo are all “middles” and that role is pretty different to 2rf these days. Yeo most likely to slot into 2rf if needed, and maybe Brown after that.

    (C)ook
    Saifiti
    Jurbo Tino
    Munster
    Capepwell
    Teddy Coates

86K left but not sure what to spend it on.

Can upgrade Saifiti to Papa but feel like he's the better pick. Just short of Capewell to Gagai or Jurbo to Crichton. Munster to Walker isn't worth much. Coates to Sami is sideways at best.

Tino to Frizell worth it? A bit worried about NSWs forward minutes and Tino can do anything if he gets 50+ mins again.

This happens a couple of times a year in the NRL, I swear. Seems relatively common.

Players ask to change the pronunciation too.

    Karl McNichol became Karl Filiga
    John Kite became Sione Kite
Rapana wanted the pronunciation of his name to reflect proper Maori pronunciation
Jason Taumalolo is actually Vaai Taumalolo (media and commentators seemed to completely ignore this one after the nines this year)
BJ Leilua decided he'd prefer Joey/Joseph Leilua

There are probably a host of others that I haven't thought of and I am sure there are a number of current players who used to be known by other names.

I've had friends change their surname due to not wanting to be associated with their father's name for various reasons. It could be that, it could be cultural. Full power to him either way.

Fiji and ex-Bulldogs outside back Marcelo Montoya has signed a two-year deal with the Warriors.

The 24-year-old is the sixth signing for 2021 after Ben Murdoch-Masila (Warrington), Kane Evans (Parramatta), Euan Aitken (St George Illawarra), Addin Fonua-Blake (Manly Warringah) and Sean O’Sullivan (Brisbane).

"Marcelo is a big, fast and powerful athlete who gives great depth to our outside backs," said Vodafone Warriors recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan told the club website.

It means the Warriors have a full roster of 30 players now.

Pretty uninspiring, but I guess fine enough if it's purely a cheap depth signing.

Yeah, this. Frizzel and Crichton will play 60+ each, one is likely to play 80. Jurbo will be in the middle rotation with the rest but I expect will get decent minutes (50-65ish)

I think the term backrowers is obsolete. We should really just talk about middle and edges. Fantasy should also adapt to this.

Jurbo played 74 minutes last week, really surprising.

Recently there was JJ Felise who changed to JJ Collins. Think it was due to family fall out

His minutes last series were 49, 73, 80. So not a massive surprise. The Cordner and Murray injuries wouldn't have hurt though

Things are really looking up for the Bulldogs, their worst player signed with the Warriors AND they managed to backout of their signing of an aging half with a busted ACL, all in the one day.

Looking at the 2021 squads, no Randall for the Knights - devastating news for MattNZ, but I guess the Knights thought they could cover hooker with Brailey, Watson, Mann, Crossland, and maybe Hoy. Time will tell...

Lele is unsigned at the Titans.

And sadly no contract for Bob Jane either.

I don’t think he plays 74 without Murray and Cordner injured. There was also a back on the bench. I think all signs point to less minutes this time, although Jurbo is capable of 80

I would have liked to have seen Randall (or another hooker) as the 30th player for the Warriors. Still their weak point with a full squad.

It seems like all-in with Egan. Otherwise a pretty handy squad. I hope they get to play in NZ (can’t see why not this atm)
