Agree with most of these but Cody Walker went missing once again last night. I just don't think he's origin quality to be completely honest. Should've been either Wighton or Keary in the number 6 jersey and Walker at 14.

Personally, I don't think it's right to entirely blame Cody Walker.
To my mind, he's always been a player that comes into his own on the back of a dominant team performance (e.g. game 2, or when Souths were running hot at the end of this season), I can't recall a time when he's been the sort of player to bail his team out when they're getting out-enthused.
So if you select a guy and expect them to turn into something they've not really been before, then that's on the selectors (and maybe they read too much media and didn't give Queensland the respect they deserve). Walker is probably a great selection in a dominant team (e.g. if he was selected to rep. Australia, he'd probably go great guns).
On the other hand, Wighton always seems more likely to be quiet in mismatched games where Canberra dominate. In tight games and high-pressure games he seems to be at his best - to quote a cliche "a big match player".
If I were a Queenslander I'm probably happy to NSW see anyone else selected at 5/8 over Wighton - I always think it's a fair strategy to do what your opposition wouldn't want you to do.
Just my 2c

2022 start for the time being unless he’s released early which is unlikely as he’s 1st backup to Edwards with Aekins goneNo Worries wrote:Dane Laurie to the Tigers
Bayley is a better player than Murchie for sure.filthridden wrote:
Yeah this was an interesting one. Seemingly out of nowhere. Sounds like we've offered overs for a few years and he's jumped at the cash.
Thought he was going well for Souths. Gives us great second row cover. Guess he'll be fighting with Murchie for that last bench spot.
We have Jed Cartwright and Jacob Host as well, both are set for big seasons.filthridden wrote:
Yep, looks like a year in the second row for Cam Murray.

Thats weird, was sure that they already had 30 players signed for next season before this signing.Camo123 wrote:Bailey Sironen released from Souths contract
