The other rule changes in 2020 (well, the 6 again), and the adjustments to that going into 2021 (6 again for inside 10m), would seem like just more and more blown out scorelines than close matches (i have done zero research to support this).

It's obvious what they are trying to do making the game more exciting, faster with less predictability. the 6 again brought in last year fatigued teams to a point that until the last few rounds there were no come backs and the scores blew out. In the past if a team got away in the first half, possession would even up in the second and so would the scores. Next year will be worse. I also support these comments with MTB's research.

I'd back that research as well - instinct is the best type of Research

Having teams not be able to give away 10m penalties in an effort to realign their defence seems very likely to increase scores.
Going into 2022 they'll decide that there's far too many blow-outs and... rewind the rules? increase the interchange? introduce the draft?

Sounds like Doueihi will be partnering Brooks in the halves next year

    Any interest?

    Suspended R1 makes it difficult

Also even with halfback stats there’s still not much upside above priced average

    Makes Brooks even more appealing

Looking like there will be lots of value in the halves, Hunt, Walters, Croker, lots of halves playing hooker it seems. Sam Walker will be a must and Milf priced at 32 will be great value. Expecting Walters to get the best out of him this season.

Early talk from Griffin is he wants Hunt & Norman back in halves (Dragons fans  Bang )

Also apparently wants to transition Bird into back row/lock after easing him in

its a little funny to me that Griffin is back coaching a halves pairing of Hunt + Norman, two players he seemed to dislike during his time at the Broncos.

I don't care if Liddle starts 9 as the only hooker in the Tigers top 50. I do not trust him to get more than 3 games out before getting injured.

Isaiah Tass in Broncos training pics, not sure if he has a contract or is on a train and trial. He was previously with the Bulldogs.. assume weve picked him up to add some depth to a dire backline

You can vote for your Kangaroos merit team on NRL.com.

    I went with the following.

    1. Clint Gutherson
    2. Hymel Hunt
    3. Clint Gutherson
    4. Clint Gutherson
    5. Edrick Lee
    6. Ben Hunt
    7. Luke Keary
    8. David Klemmer
    9. Ben Hunt
    10. Junior Paulo
    11. Jaydn Su'a
    12. Jaydn Su'a
    13. Jai Arrow

    14. Clint Gutherson
    15. Payne Haas
    16. Payne Haas
    17. Jaydn Su'a

Kind of annoyed that I couldn't pick Chad Townshend for all positions to be honest.

Taumalolo named as Co-Captain for the Cowboys along with some other fella who occassionally plays Halfback, Centre (Origin), Fullback etc etc and allegedly could fill the gap that Thurston left when he left...

I'd be quite keen on naming him as Co-Captain next year as well!

JAC 4 year deal with Bulldogs. They'll have good wingers, can they get them any ball?

They'll have Flanagan & Burton in 2022 when JAC arrives so their backs aren't issue, it's still HOK and potentially their go-forward

In 2022 they'd have Hopoate, JAC, Averillo, Cotric, Meaney, Burton, Flanagan as backline

It's definitely one with talent, but I'm not sure I'd expect huge things quickly.

Don't they say that halves tend to reach their potential around the 100 games mark (Cleary obviously a special case who hit 100 this year), Mitch Moses already at 150 for example, Luke Brooks 148 and still we wait...

Flanagan & Burton have 31 games in Halves between them, through to a Centre pairing (if it's Averillo & Cotric) with 15 games in experience at CTR. Maybe JAC will get a go at FLB when he arrives, with Hopoate at CTR and Cotric still on the Wing?
