Loved reading MTB and Milchs thoughts on origin. As someone whos only become a full time league fan over the decade it was super interesting to get your views on it. Hopefully its a cracking game tomorrow! Tipping nsw 13 plus.

NRL site reporting Aloiai asked for release and reportedly texted Tigers management : "I have no desire to represent the Wests Tigers organisation or put a Wests Tigers jersey on again”

Something not right at Tigers. Too much of this kind of crap.

I feel like there are two sides of the story here and the truth is somewhere in the middle (typical of most rugby league stories I guess), admittedly I have only seen a few bytes of info about it.

It was only recently he was proclaiming his commitment to the club?

I feel like the club is trying to be more business smart about contracts, but they're getting walked on by player managers and are just not handling the negotiations well.

When Matterson wanted out. Tigers said they'd only let him go if they got something out of it.

End result: Matterson left and Tigers got 0 in return

They've said they'll only let Aloiai go if they get something out of it. I suspect he'll walk away to Manly and we'll be kept short.

Honestly I hope they don't release him. Make him sit the year out if he doesn't want to play for us. Fuck these players that want to shop themselves around mid-contract.

But if it keeps happening, then would you sign any young player to a long term dea, without paying massive oversl. If they perform well they'll likely try and leave for more money, contract or not.

The key part here is "for 2022 and 2023"

If Aloiai wants to go for more money once his contract is up, then that's his business
