I made that comment after looking at his Qld Cup scores. Admittedly Magpies looked to be pretty poor in 2019, but a bunch of sub 20 scores.

To be fair he was only just turned 17 then.

Milford Niu and Coates defending on the right edge is a big worry though

Thats the thing too, weve got older heads like copley and mead as backups. If we lose two or three early then kevy will make changes and theyd probably be the first to come in, as uninspiring as those selections would be.

Same goes for Averillo really, Lewis or Wakeham could be at 6 by round 3

Again same reason im staying away from Averillo. Lewis wont be out of the side all year

By all reports Garner won't be in the team. Even if he starts round 1, I wouldn't trust him to be there long term

Laurie was signed to play fullback, hopefully he does round 1 so we can all just chuck him in and forget about it. Would also be nice to have him in the system at all.

Thank for that - shame I like Garner as a footballer.

Im betting Blore will be a big question mark on TLT with Garner named to start.

even if Garner does start and keeps it, he averaged 73 minutes last year. Where is the value coming from? He had one poor game when he came off the bench and got sin-binned in a flogging

But he's priced at 44. Surely there's not much chance of improving on that enough to make him a useful fantasy pick

I still think I’ll carry Niu in my emergencies as he’s probs gonna have that valuable CTR/WFB  DPP.

What cheapies are you gonna have then as there is injury and job security risks for most cheapish players... you are still gonna have to pick some!

It's Round 2 I'd be worried about. Would be far clearer if Douehi wasn't suspended.

He'll be a great cow at some time in the season when an injury hits but is a big danger as a shiny, cheap new thing. Easy to trade from a failed 300-400 pick (hi, Moylan) if he does stay in the team and is the goods but has big flashing warning signs if you expect him to be your WFB3 from the start.

BTW had to get to the site on an Incognito tab and bypass security warnings. Something's up.
You are expecting mbye to play 6 in round 1?

My centers are changing more often than they were during last season.

Currently have Hopoate (need that CTR/WFB flexibility for team balance) and Momo.

If Momo gets right center I think he will love running off Cleary and having Staines to finish on the wing. My current draft has all 3, as well as Edwards coming in from fullback. When the right edge clicks, they should put up some big scores.

In the only game that Edwards and Staines played together, they had an amazing combination, setting up great tries for each other. Edwards ended up with 3 try assists and a try with 81 points, while Staines got 4 tries and the try assist for the Edwards try for 87 points. Could be something really special this season, with a combination a bit like Leipana had.

There are three ways they could go, with varying info about Laurie's immediate future.

    a) 1.Mbye 6.Madden - forget about Laurie, he'll be eased into the squad

    b) 1.Mbye 6.Laurie - Mbye definitely has fullback spot to lose, Douehi almost certainly coming straight back in at 6

    c) 1.Laurie 6.Mbye - No clear information about round two, but the most positive scenario for Laurie.

C seems the most likely, but might trip up owners who can only see the best-case scenario. I'm sure he'll get the chance and be a cow at some point in the season, but potential to miss out on price rises from one of the many other early cows (admittedly none of them starting at 246k) if he's on the pine from round two. Will wait and see what noises come out of Wests over the next month but at the moment it's a probable no. If he kills it in round 1 (unlikely vs Canberra) and forces his way into team then he's an easy trade in at his price.

The best option for Laurie, would be
    1. Laurie 6. Madden 14. Mbye

Mbye is in a tough position, he's not a bad player, just not considered good enough to be first choice in any of the positions he's played.

Makes sense to have Mbye at 14. Im assuming they are not expecting Liddle to play 80 each week so will need someone to cover 9

Interesting, Averillo has been an automatic selection for most. If he doesnt get any attacking stats though, his base stats for a half aren't that good. At the moment he's on my emergencies but if some 246k ctr options pop up i might be tempted to save some cash.

After all the trades I wasted on CTR's last season. I'll probably just settle for 2 sub 400k players and leave it at that.

I've just read some terrible news....the Eels have dumped the cheerleaders on the eve of the 2021 nrl season...this is bad karma for their premiership hopes in 2021.
