nrl.com saying they expect Laurie to start at fullback and Mbye at 6 https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/12/29/wests-tigers-2021-round-1-predicted-team/

Sums up how i feel altho i do believe he is worthy of a spot in the 17, just needs to find the right balance.
Also hes entertaining to watch so i hope he is in the side

Re: NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 3 - Closer
Burton's scores from last year are misleading. There's a 69 he scored in the highest scoring fantasy game ever. An 86 with 2 tries.
Then a 29 which looks like it would be round about what his floor would be.
Usefulness would depend entirely on his halves partner. If he somehow got put with Averillo you could foresee a bunch of kick metres and fantasy usefulness. If he somehow ended up with Lachlan Lewis you'd avoid him for sure. If he ends up playing with Flanagan its not immediately sure who would be the better option and I'd probably avoid both to wait and see.

If you look at his tries last year, they certainly came from Smith doing something good and creating space at the fuck, so yes.
EDIT at the RUCK. At the ruck. Jesus, autocorrect.

Someone on twitter with a pic of papy/johns practicing goal kicking, said munster was not practicing with him. Could mean nothing..
Lets say Papy takes on GK fulltime.. in a good side like the Storm that should be 6+ points per game. Does make him pretty tempting as an alternative to Teddy

Re: NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 3 - Closer
From a titans fan I believe our best team is:
1. Brimson
2. Sami/Thompson
3. Hebert (gk)
4. Kelly
5. Spry
6. Taylor
7. Fogarty
8. MoFo
9. Rein
10. Joliffe
11. Fifita
12. Proctor (c)
13. Tino
14. Wallace
15. Ese'Ese
16. Fermor/McIntyre
17. Peachey
The hardest part is leaving Don out. Got a feeling he is still better than Thompson and Sami though as he just seems to be able to make something out of nothing on kick returns while the one thing Sami can't seem to do is run it straight and hard. would also like to see Marzhew or Pearson play as they are just too good for reserve grade
I really liked what I saw of Spry especially playing outside Kelly. I hope it stays that way.
the one change to the bench is it will either be Fermour/ McIntyre or it will be Lisone/Boyd/Clark as Tino can always spell Fifita on the edge although you want Fifita at the end of matches as he can win them for you by himself and Rein may not be able to play 80 but we will see.
Also I actually really liked Peach playing 50 minutes at lock. Was really dynamic and towards the end of the season started playing smarter footy

Pappy just doesnt get those consistent tackle busts like Teddy. He can buzz around the ball all game but if he doesnt get line breaks or tries he can end up a lower fantasy score than you think

I don't understand the Peachey hate.
Tevaga gives away the exact some penalties and we all still love him.
Don't get me wrong, I think he's still a level below Tevaga but he's still got that ability to bust the opposition wide open. Can't think of many teams that wouldn't want him in their 17.

He is the most flexible player in the game, can't think of anyone close to him in being able to play any position on the field. Loved having him in my team last season.filthridden wrote:I don't understand the Peachey hate.

Munster is a great player, one of the best two or three in the world, but you just need to look at him taking one goalkick to know he'll never be a kicker. Always thought Papy would get the gig.
The Ted/Turbo/Papy backline in my WAGs team makes me salivate a bit, but not sure I can pull that trigger in the main team now that possibilities of Laurie and extended Hoy have turned up (though still very wary of Laurie's round 2 job security).

People have to remember Pappy is only 22 years old and has played 42 games of football, yet he is already in the top 3 FB chat. Another pre season, bulk up a little, the TB’s will come but he doesn’t need TB’s and has proved he can go big still

Re: NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 3 - Closer
has everyone gone cold on Kelly? I looked at his stats before this year and they would make him out to be not a great pick but he was 21-23 when he was averaging 31-35 at centre while last year he averaged 41.6 in 10 70+ minute games which only included 4 tries. this included a 19, a 21 and a 30 with a try and he also scored 3 60s only 2 of them included a try. He seemed to be a miss tackle machine last year with an average of 3 miss tackles per game which is up there with the worst but that could be fixed with better defenders inside him resulting in fewer situations where he is left in a shit situation defensively.
These are just stats and some thoughts, not an argument. What does everyone else think of Kelly?

Is it a good idea to go Lam at Hlf and Swalker at 17 and attempt the loop? 18 + 19 would be Hoy and Laurie. I hope the roosters’ half is a two horse race?

Wtf just happened to the site?
Very pretty and all, but be aware that unless I'm missing something then on mobile there doesn't seem to be a way to get from the index to the latest page, so you have to go from page one and click "next" 18 (or 50, or whatever) times...
(Edit... never mind, what happened to the site might have been that I clicked mobile version. Back on web version now. But is there a way of getting to the latest page on mobile?)

If Laurie starts Rd 1 at FB and even if he does okay why would you expect him to lose the position? To Mbye? Mbye is our perfect 14, Madden should be 6 for Rd 1. I got Teddy Paps and Turbo in but only my centres have taken the hit. I think I can sleep with Averillo/ Niu/ or Feagai stinking it up.rhinoceroo wrote:

I’m going Hoy. Ponga to miss the first 4-5 weeks which should coincide with Moylan’s shift to FB. What could possibly go wrong there?FalconSloth wrote:hoy or moylan?

Most of Wests forum seem to think Mbye will be fullback from Round 2. Wests fans on here seem to differ. Would be helpful to hear noises from the club in the next few weeks.

No love for Mad Jack? Genuine role change this year as a big minute prop, and if he can avoid five-game suspensions I'd call him to average more that Lodge and LAM with better job security and lower price tag. (The "if" is doing a bit of work there, I know.)
