Already have Cleary, CHT, Lam so Munster makes it a half heavy draft.
Better to go for a proven keeper than two borderline guns right?

Imo he is the most secure of anyone in the back 5.

Was obviously great playing that big minute middle role, but it only really happened 4 times last year from round 2-5 where he played 67, 80, 76, 80. Post-injury his highest minutes was 62, and mostly in the low 50s range.
I would have thought with Tamou, Ofa, and Utoikamanu signed there aren't huge minutes up for grabs. Do people think he'll get that big minutes lock role back?
Note that it is the <12 games team, not full strength.WT2K wrote:Macca and Bird named in dragons trial squad

With substitution rotation, every team is pretty much required to either have a big minute hooker, big minute middle, or end the game with a different line up than you start with.
Assuming that every team starts and wants to finish with best 13:
Sub 1 - Mid 1 off - Mid 4 on
Sub 2 - Mid 2 off - Mid 5 on
Sub 3 - Mid 3/Hook off - Mid 6/Utility1 on
Sub 4 - Mid 4 off - Mid 1 on
Sub 5 - Mid 5 off - Mid 2 on
Sub 6 - Mid 6/Utility1 - Mid 3/Hook on
Sub 7 - Edge 1 off - Edge 3 on
Sub 8 - Injury cover
Of course HIA and injuries mess up the rotation pretty much every week, but most coaches rely on either hooker or lock to play the big minutes. Few exceptions like Haas but it's generally the guy in 9 or 13
Madge has confirmed that both Liddle and Simpkins will spend time at hooker this year, leaving me to believe Simpkins will be on the bench as 14 from the start. This means one of Twal, Tamou and Ofa will play bulk minutes. Based on what we have seen in their careers I would say Twal is most likely

I reckon it is an advantage, lets you come in with a clear mind.

I think its good to be thinking about your team at the moment, which players might be useful, and which you probably want to avoid. Even if you aren't actually logging into the site every 5 minutes to put in/remove a player because they were mentioned in a pre-season fluff article.
I think if you come in blind the week before the comp starts and start asking questions to yourself like "who is this Shawn Blore guy" and "I wonder what Lachlan Lam will score like this year" then you might be a it behind the 8-ball

So far by being on here this year I’ve dropped LoLo, Murray and Fogarty and replaced them with Angus ,Munster and JFH and I’m still not completely happy , I’m running with a forward / half heavy squad the back five are embarrassing but it’s a risk I’m willing to take early on but obviously TLT dependant - a big thumbs up to the guys / girls that keep this joint ticking over cheers !!!
