He's fast and got destroyed in defence at centre. Less decision-making at 5/8th so maybe he'd go better there. He'd probably score some tries in a good attacking team but he's with the Bulldogs.
302k though for a starting 5/8 available at centre. Can't not have him in my squad if named.

One thing that Averillo has which is a good advantage is his speed & acceleration which is very explosive. If opposition defenses switch off for a second Averillo will be through.

Look for big name mid-season signing of Boyd Cordner.

@Welshy loves him.
He looks great on his feet, just needs consistent time in the one position imo.

I’m prepared to assume he gets better in defence
Most talented kids are ready for top grade in attack, and often already physically strong and fast enough to cope, but the defensive side takes a lot of time. Not tackling - structure, positioning, decision making. There’s no margin for error, you can’t make up for technical mistakes with raw ability like in NSW or QLD Cup. Especially as a centre - might be the hardest place to defend.

Saints supporters seem to think that since Bird was named in this weekend’s trial he will start Rd 1 at 13. He apparently wasn’t supposed to play any trials!

I just auto filled my team because half of the spuds I had in there are now injured. Usually this time of year it throws in popular gun picks with random cheapies which artificially inflates their ownership stats. I got a J.Cook (HOK) that plays for Souths. Wondering how many people are gonna be pissed come the end of round 1.

Whyd they decide he will play 13 ?
I thought it was interesting that Jackson Ford played the whole first half last week and made me think he might not make the side come round 1
Misc pointless info but there is a fella Shelwyn Cobbo who will play the first half for wynnum and the second half for the broncos on friday night

Barty out!!
The other girl though took a 10mins medical timeout as her head was spinning early in the second set. as she was getting flogged. Poor sportsmanship! Ash lost all her rhythm after that.

I play tennis (badly) and I can’t be arsed watching it other than Kyrgios trolling the masses

My centres are currently Hopoate and Averillo.
I’m tempted by Bird but worry he will break down within the first 3-4 weeks.

I wouldn't say Averillo is without injury risk.
My other concern with Averillo is he does seem to be able to play a lot of positions. Depending on the make up of the dogs bench, there's every chance he gets shifted to the centres or the wing if they cop an injury out there. You can't plan for injuries like that of course but good to be mindful of.

Momo would be right edge, his winger would be Staines.
Unfortunately as a Staines owner, Momo has 0 TAs at center. Hopefully Edwards and Cleary just cut him out directly to Staines.
Mansour was left wing though and I imagine Staines is replacing him.
Well either way I back Momo if he gets the round 1 spot.

Has been advised that Too is switching to left wing, Staines is on the right.Mr Snrub wrote:

Any love for Reed Mahoney? Was getting his minutes managed at the back end of the year with no byes and all that. Would expect him to go back to 80 minutes where he averaged 56.5, priced at 50.9, plays the first bye. Thoughts?

I reckon he is going to have a HOK on the bench this year and will play fewer minutes -- most likely Joey Lussick to be # 14
