This was sorta how I was leaning, though how you want to select who is top 3/4 is also worth discussing as you could use the method Welshy mentioned where you take into account the season finish not just the GF. I also like the idea of punishment for the spoon or finishing poorly as a way to keep interest going (other than just relegation). Personally one of the things I hate in draft is that the only thing you can really control is how many points your team scores not how many is "scored against them" so you have situations where you might be the top scorer for the league but for whatever reason wind up 3rd or something. If we have 10man leagues we could potentially have 3 promotions/relegations each year so maybe something could relate to your total score for the season (rather than matches won or F/A). But maybe I'm the only one who hates that in which case I'll suck it up.B/L wrote:Given there is no real reason for people being in higher divisions.
Couls pick the top 4 from league 1. 3 from 2 and 3 etc for next year and do promotion relegation the following year.
Any newcomers from there start at the bottom.

I think something like this. League 1 gets an extra entry into the 1st Div next year based on punctuality.

Not sure where to go next; 2 centres, 1 wfb and 4 bench spots left... not sure if I should fill my centres with a semi premium pick (momo, BJ, Ramien, Olam), grab one last wfb in Ramsey, BMoz, Cotric or try and get some bench players and just scrape the barrel for my centres and WFB.

I'm in a draft league for the EPL and it annoys me when someone says they've scored the most points and should be top. It's a head to head league for a reason. Goal difference means nothing in the premier league. Whether you win by a point or 50 in league you still only get 2 points.
I appreciate that's your opinion but they're head to head leagues and they need to be different in other ways.

Re: 2021 FF NRL Fantasy DRAFT League
I get what you're saying and wouldn't be shocked at all if you're in the majority (like I said I'll just suck it up) but unlike the premier league teams I can't really control how many points an opponent scores against me. I could draft and manage a gun team but every week someone pips me by 1 point with a score that is much better than anything they get for the rest of the season and complete luck means I get a terrible finish. Just feels flat (and I say this as someone who has also benefited from it). Shit I dunno, maybe with a playoff between 3rd and 4th it would be so unlikely to ever be much of an issue it doesn't matter. Just thought I'd throw out stuff I haven't loved with previous experiences and that was the first that came to mind.Honeysett wrote:

Oh something else I just remembered now worth establishing, we've had discussion in sportsdeck seasons about how the finals should play out (which teams are included) in order to determine the winner, I don't care how that works but know its a point of discussion each season so bringing it up early with this one.

Not a lot left at WFB other than boom/bust wingers, so I've picked Sivo since he'll score 3 tries over the top of Niu/Coates in round 1. BUY LOW SELL HIGH

Yeah he's one that I looked at that could bounce back this year, had a pretty quiet year for his standard.
I'm surprised that no one has yet taken the risk on Staines - he's not going to score 6 tries in 2 games all the time but he's in a good Panthers side and forced out Mansour. I'm not sure what to do with my bench having never played draft league. I'm thinking coverage in the main areas instead of having options to swap in and out each week?

Exactly, make the money in draft, then wire it to your Classic fantasy team (the ole secret fantasy back door)

Why I grabbed Turpin ahead of my centres. Turpin will be great cover for API when he eventually gets injured. Thinking a hlf, a WFB/Ctr and a Mid/Edg for my other three bench spots.

I went Allan as my scrape of the barrel pick. FB at the dogs so hopefully he maybe gets a bit more involved then he needed to at the rabbits... would be happy with 35-40 from him and Drinkwater. I’m hoping Mitchell is more 40-50
