2021 FF NRL Fantasy DRAFT League

Flamingo gonna get stuck with mcinnes and staines in league 3.

Got randomsil and holmes away before I get back to back picks. If Hass and ponga don't get picked could get them back to back but might stuggle for the first 4 weeks. Guess I'll have to see who they pick first

The app is definitely shit. The whole Draft thing is surely 50% of the reason the app even exists, and they can't fix it up? Lazy fuckers.

done. gotta say i'm not loving drafting at 10. Sitting there watching all the players you want go in the 18 picks before I get another pick. Worst has been Danaconda swooping in one pick before me twice, having survived 17 picks in the meantime! Bring on that number 1 waiver position

I'd imagine when I wake up it'll be my pick. If I get up for a piss during the night I'll do my pick as soon as I can. Chump would be asleep by now. We've done 10/17 so we should be done on the weekend. Then we can see what trade offers come about haha

Cheers Wolfy. Also, maybe getting ahead of myself here, but for Welshy's sake I'm wondering how we want to handle relegation (and promotion for the more fantasy capable amongst us) given this is the first year or the NRL fantasy draft leagues.

Can discuss it once the drafts finish so it doesn't get lost amongst the picks and such but putting it out there to think about.

Good idea mate! Have some proper discussion, had originally set up 2 up and 2 down with league and championship winners being promoted and bottom 2 relegated

Given there is no real reason for people being in higher divisions.

Couls pick the top 4 from league 1. 3 from 2 and 3 etc for next year and do promotion relegation the following year.

Any newcomers from there start at the bottom.

Is there a 3rd/4th playoff? If so, could be a good way to determine a 3rd team promoted - keeping some interest for the losing semi finalists.
The biggest issue in non-cash draft leagues is keeping people active who aren't doing so well. Last year we had a draft with NRLFF members and by the end of the season a lot of the teams had incomplete lineups.
Maybe the league winner choosers an avatar for last place (for the rest of next season)?

In an NFL league we have 'I suck at fantasy football' number plate frames as well as a cash penalty for the loser - but I guess that would be hard to do here given the geographic spread.

Keen to hear any other punishment ideas to make sure people stay active setting lineups.
