In response to the question from last thread Cookie just played the first 40mins. Didn’t have much tackling to do as we controlled play, he just did his job, a few darts and crisp service from dummy half making sure he was feeding the halves and Latrell.

Cook is highly likely to be in my side and more often than not will play 80mins.

In a few games if we are well ahead Wayne may give him an 8-10mins early mark just to make sure he’s a bit fresher for the back end after origin.

With Grant out now many more will load on Cookie.

Do we expect Bird to be in the centres all year or is the ultimate aim for him to move to lock once he gets some Gametime?

    Disagree with that.

Isaako, Hopoate and to a lesser extent Tex Hoy are all solid picks at WFB, I currently have all three (Hopoate at centre), and have loaded up my mids (swapped Grant out for Junior Paulo going off BA talking him up and can use the money elsewhere)

Isaako is a solid scorer at fullback, if he's there Round 1 which he should be, he's in my team.

    I'm leaning that way myself.

Ieremia at Storm looks to have had a good game based on the highlights, scoring a try and setting up another.

Young at Knights also set up and then scored a good try. Could be a good CTR/WFB option that will score well if given a chance.

Idk why but I just can't see myself loading up my backline to start the season, most I'd go is 2 guns like Teddy and Papi but the third is inevitably gonna be a cheapie

Ieremia is not in the system though. Do you think he may take one of the last top 30 spots and start R1.

EDIT: looks like he may be one of the most picked players come TLT.

Ieremia has won the wing position for this trial game, but Ponissi said the race to fill the departed Suliasi Vunivalu’s vacant wing spot was still up for grabs.

“The right wing is without a shadow of a doubt the most competitive position in the team,” he said.

“There are four playing vying for it along with Dean.

“There’s Isaac Lumelume and George Jennings and Reimis Smith, who are going to put their hands up as well.

“Dean has just edged his nose in front of the others for this game, but there’s nothing in it and it’s extremely competitive for Round 1.”

Looks to be his spot if playing well, with his nose just in front of the other candidates.

Tom Flegler suffered a shoulder injury in tonights trial and will have scans on Monday. Same shoulder as the one he had surgery on last year, so a bit of concern. Via NRLPhysio

Flegler and Haas out, with Fifita and Ofa no longer there, going to be a tough start to the season.
