Also - wish I'd posted earlier tonight, had tipped Young & Wilton to score at $6.50 & $7 respectively!

I thought there was a way you could sub guys out of your team for the joint contests, but I couldn't swap Taffe out of my Friday double or weekend team. Pretty frustrating.

Yeah I remember you chaps saying you could do it last year, but couldn't find any possible way tonight, via my phone. Maybe something silly like you can only do it from a computer? It made me sad.

I haven't checked this year to be fair, but surely.

Speaking of, the $20 I placed on the Broncos game for Rapid Fire is currently paying up! Here's hoping updates are kind.

Game 1 - Roosters v Knights
Adam Clune - Fts team 31, lts team 31, fts2h 67. Priced as a forward, starting in the halves. Yes the Roosters are strong favourites but Joey's working with the Knights attack and was raving on about Clune's speed and workrate on Ch9 this week.

Jacob Saifiti - $81 FTS on Bet365. This is annoying as he was $101 earlier in the week! But I tipped him at $81 on here last season from memory and it got up. Knights with a weak pack, will have to depend on Jacob and his form last season was excellent.

Game 2 - Warriors v Dragons
Moses Suli on TAB. FTS Team 16, ATS 4.25 & FTS2H $31. Basically they've stuffed up his odds - ATS not as good as the others but obviously safer.

FTS2H - Kerr @ 71 on Sportsbet. One of my favourite try scoring forwards - has the perfect style of game for it and has the stats to back this up too.

Game 3 - Tigers v Storm

Luke Brooks - LTS team $19 & FTS2h $51 on TAB. Storm have an inexperienced bench + missing Munster & Grant. Brooks has a good try scoring rate and think the $51 especially is great value for him playing at home against an understrength Storm team.

In 3/4 of a round of footy I've already lost half of what I made through ok Bbl season.

This Draftstars thing confuses me.

On Thursday night I'd seemingly killed it, coming 4th, I think it was... maybe 5th in the 50c comp. Not a lot of money for any punter, but for me the $24 would basically have undone all my losses for the year. I refresh the site continuously until I go to sleep after midnight, still sitting up there, winning $24.

Wake up on Friday and I was 43rd, winning $1. Never, ever seen a drop like that... and it took so long too.

Tonight I did pretty well in the Cowboys vs Titans game and the money, as of a while ago, had already been paid out, which is nice.

Still just really don't get that Thursday night one, though, and what happened there, as it seems unusual based on my experience with the site.

Had a pretty tough season so far, definitely in the red. Still kicking myself over the Storm vs Eels match-up, where for whatever reason I didn't check the final teams properly and missed Coates being out. Had every other player that killed it, still finished 52nd, which is solid for me, but probably would have paid for my season so far if I noticed the Coates out.

Anyway, boring tales, but no matter how bad I'm going in this this year, still a heck of a lot better than my Fantasy efforts, so I do enjoy it.

Only way I ever find the drops post match in rankings understandable are when the points differential between ur new lower rank and the rank u went to sleep on are very small and players updating and scores being corrected just didn't fall ur way.

I notice some games don't pay out until hours after, the end of night ones anyway.

I haven't hit any solid wins in the matchups, just a few rapid fires, quite a few actually.

Even a 3 point update for a player you have and 40% of players do can drop you a heep of spots.

I won the dogs Broncos game last night, so happy days.

9th in the Eels game, let's see how updates fair

Hope everyone has been well. Left Sydney on 1st April and won't be back till June 30 so things have been hectic, just making sure I do my trades for Fantasy and haven't had time for Draftstars unfortunately.

Wicky is working with Draftstars for the 2022 NRL season - we have updated projections before every game that you can download and use in their cruncher if you want to enter multiple teams (for the smaller comps too). Link is https://wicky.ai/rugby-league/draftstars-stat-bible/

What I have been doing though is following/betting on try scorer markets. Our free tool has been pretty useful but tbh the best way to get on has been an hour before the game, trying to beat the bookies before they change their prices on players. Eg. Tom Gilbert was $101 to score the first try on TAB as he was named on the bench but got shifted to starting 2nd row last weekend.

Had my best weekend on the punt in 10 years in Round 7. Got Molo @ $151 FTS on Neds, Tapine 2nd TS @ $101 & Knights to score first & Eels to score the first try @ $67s.

With a lot more team changes due to covid/injuries/teams getting smashed and the coaches losing patience, it should be a fun few weeks before origin to get on good value try scorer markets!

Quick note for tonight's game - Wade Graham is 34 & 5.50 on TAB, if he's listed to start that's really good value so one to potentially get on quickly before they shift the odds.
Hynes ATS could be a great bet too if Trindall starts and Hynes gets shifted to fullback if Kennedy is out.

Tolman/Rudolf - both great odds on TAB for fts team or fts - wait till final team lists to pull the trigger.

Thought of doing a punters guide to magic round with a brief guide on how to use our try scorer tool + some tips for each game. Any bets you guys like for magic round? Aside from the try scorer ones, the one I think is interesting is Raiders +10.5 against the Sharks. Sharks coming off a big effort and Ramien & Kennedy missing I think the Raiders could keep it tight with Papa & Tapine in great form!
