NRL Fantasy 2021 - Part 9 - ‘Twas the weekend before TLT

My wife hates rugby league so I don't get to watch all games but I do watch the late games as she's usually asleep. She used to come & watch every game when I played but it was more about the social side not because of the game.

Could be this season's Matterson, great base and the occasional upside. I prefer Lucy though, costs less, looking really fit and dangerous and will play round 13.Bethany_B wrote:Also I'm seriously considering Frizell as a sneaky POD on the edge.
Reasoning is that he got basically zero attacking stats last year and is now in a much better team, opening up the possibility of attacking stats.
Do we think he'll maintain his workrate from last year? If so then I see very little risk and decent upside for a POD pick
I have stacked my EDG, as I see lots of value there in guys that can step up at the gun level. Have Crichton, Fifita, Lucy, Capewell, Riki.

Flelger Asiata will definitely be two of them, sounds like Teo will be a third.
Dunno if playing the trial necessarily rules out the other two, but id hope its a utility because four forwards is a waste. Not really expectinf whoever it is to get any meaningful mins unless injury
Still backing Turpz to get big mins with a utility?

Same, though I didn't go Capewell (yet). I have Koro at hooker and want to keep him there....I managed to squeeze Tedesco in at the cost of RTS and Brailey....not sure I want to miss Brailey though

Lucy wasn't really unfit last year was he??
Only had 1 game below 60 mins with rest 74 or above, so you're really relying on more attacking stats??
Still think him & Frizell are a rung below Fifita/Crichton/Matterson
Also I'm sure re Frizell I heard Knights assistant on TK podcast saying they're not going to be using him as a battering ram like Dragons, so might lose RM/TB

With KK and Davey unlikely im rethinking my Edge. Would rather have Fifita and Capewell with Riki on the bench than starting with Riki and either Gosi or Host on the bench.
If Capewell is going to rotate and not play 80 then not worth the extra money.
Im sure Sorenson will slip in there at stages. Cant see him missing the 17

With a bench of May Eisenhuth Leniu Martin who would you drop for Sorenson? Can only see him getting a shot if there are injuries. Not like he has ever been a locked in first graderMighty Fishes wrote:

I see no upside on Luciano either.
He was great last year because he was undervalued as a starting back rower. This year he's priced at what he'll score.

Good to see WT Winfield pop in the thread

He's in a dementia home now because he got really bad quite quickly & I was unable to adequately care for him. Me & my family go to see him & he doesn't recognise us, he's in his own little world. But at least he's in the best place to handle him. Cheers mate.

Who if anyone will stop Brandon Smith from playing 80 for the next 6 rounds?

Smith says he has gained weight to play lock and couldn't get through 80 minutes at hooker. Smoothy expected to be on the bench to take minutes at hookerMac Attack wrote:

Just listened to all three positional podcasts with Sanga + Dom and in the Mid one Lodge never even rated a mention. He’s somehow very popular here. It certainly ended my interest in Hetherington. Anyone know anything about Faamausili starting at Saints. I’ve never heard of him before.

Former rooster, was stuck behind all their great Mids. Got a chance with warriors last season and impressedThe Pascoe Fiasco wrote:Just listened to all three positional podcasts with Sanga + Dom and in the Mid one Lodge never even rated a mention.
