Poasa has never been a big minute player before, but if he starts, would it be unreasonable to assume he can get 40 minutes?

I'd go him over alvaro if one starts and one is on the bench.

Dragons are the most sus forward pack though, not sure I'd trust round 1 teams to continue into round 3 onwards

So, given the Grant & Finucane injuries I've put big Tino on the watch list for the first month and decided to go for a cash grab with Storm middles - choice between Welch (+$57k ITB) or NAS ($7k ITB)

Who makes the most cash in 4 weeks and who has the biggest upside in terms of points?

    Welcome

Some prefer to have a few 100k spare for trade options after round 1 in case of injuries or dud cows. It looks like you have a bit of cover if anyone goes down injured so that's not an issue.
What's your plans with Hoy after round 4? you may need a little cash for an upgrade there.
If BMM is not named in the 13 it's not a bad idea to go for someone like Lodge for the xtra cash.

Hoping Hoy can earn enough cash for me to swap to someone like isaako

Would be a big gamble that I probably won't take, but I do wonder if he can get his run metres up around/over 100m a game playing down Keary's edge + add a few more attacking stats.

Could be one of those ones that no one really looks at in pre season and ends up doing really well..

He is in my side at the moment. He is someone who seems to have a secure position at EDG, for a decent price, and in a good team. He mightn't make money, but at least I don't need to worry that he'll switch between the bench and the run on side.

I've got Welch at the moment. I can see the upside for NAS too, but I also have Cheese at hooker and all 3 might be a bit excessive.

I like him as the 2021 guy who is a year older and wiser, getting a good run in first grade and may be about to step up a level.

Not sure I am going to start with him but tbh I prefer him as a pick rather than gamble which Melbourne storm middle is going to benefit the most over the next 5 weeks

Unless he explodes with a couple of tries in the first couple of week he could be a decent option to fix the inevitable mid range mistake

I have him too at the moment. What's not to like about a player available at EDG who lines up at 13? Agree there's a risk he drops some minutes but he managed to average 60 last year without virtually no attacking stats. Most people seem to prefer Crichton as their gun mid/edge but I'm trying to squeeze them both in.

I assume I need a valid team and both V and VC picked and locked in before game 1 kick off?

Or is there some week 1 difference?

I see Doordash has jumped on board as the front and center sponsor, seems they weren't as shrewd in negotiations as Harvey was last year, where's our two extra trades Doordash?!

I have noticed the site doesn’t tell you to set VC but I imagine you need to

You try to have VC as Thursday night player if you have one so you have minimum players locked out

Yep rd one is a little different because there is rolling lock out. Because we are in preseason, we still have unlimited trades, but each player will lock out at different times on the weekend depending on when they play. So you mostly want your team selected, but it's best to have a couple of back up plans in case final team lists before each game are different to the ones named on Tuesday because you can still change it without costing you a trade for the players who haven't locked out yet. The exception is Captain and VC, they lock out Thursday night. If Cleary breaks his leg during the captain's run on Friday, nothing you can do about it other than make sure you have cover so at least you get a score at half and you would get double the VC's score.

You're going to be very unpopular if Cleary actually breaks his leg during the captain's run on Friday

    - at least for that night. The next day everyone will want to know more predictions

And then whether to trade Cleary to the Neck or Moses or go a cheapie to upgrade a dud cow or mid ranger.

Alvaro even off the bench I think he can get 35-40mins especially if he’s first rotation on.

At 35-40mins I’m more keen on Alvaro than Poasa...

Alvaro keeps making tackle after tackle.

Is alvaro that guy though, not going to know until after the fact. I sort of think hes going to play low mins.. but their options are fairly limited i guess

Depends what they actually do with Kerr too, edge role cant last.. ?

I think Poasa might cement that solid first grade 45 min prop role this year. Probably still a slow burn anyway.

Poasa and Lawrie won’t play more than 40-45mins so I see no reason why Alvaro doesn’t get 35mins at worst. I think he’s first rotation off the bench.
