Bulldogs board still seem to think Averillo won't play this week. Will be late call but might keep him anyway and take Niu's score, can't be doing with spending at centre or fucking around with Dylan Walker.

    Considering fui for the DPP

Not much competition there in the second row spots considering Kerr is there atm

The bird switch mooted (by us only?) doesn’t scare me as 30-40 at lock and the rest at centre sounds alright at that price. Moving from lock to 2nd row for Kerr he will be up and down in scoring but make money

Someone talk sense into me. Who or what am I missing?

Come and vote for the community starting team for this year
    https://www.nrlfantasyfanatics.com/t1533-community-team-starting-squad

Its perfectly acceptable to just vote for your own planned 21 players, just weight who you think is most important to you, and we'll come up with the consensus forum team

Original talk was Bird to lock but after trial he said he just wants to play CTR

Depends if Griffin will listen I guess, I don't think Kerr said he wants to play edge Razz

The Bird switch could be 80 minutes at center (or 60 then Wiliame comes in).

Fantasy players see Wiliame as giving Bird the option to move into forwards.

Maybe he's just there to cover Bird because they aren't confident he can get through 80 mins ? There was originally talk he would start the season on small mins from the bench (obvs in a dif role, but you get the picture)

Bird only played 51 minutes in last trial and now he's going to play 80 split between CTR and lock? This seems like wishful thinking

    On the Dogs pack

    a) Will Napa get a starting gig at some point or is he considered bench prop now?

    b) When Thompson comes back, is he going to displace Ogden or Hetherington?

I think they are both not long for it. As well as Waddell

I think both Napa and RFM will end up starting sooner than later, and Thompson is going to work his way up to James Graham levels of grubby awesomeness over the next 1-2 seasons.

Of the three, I reckon Ogden most likely to hold starting role, but probably an impact rather than big stats/minutes player.

And that concludes my thinking about the dogs pack for the rest of 2021

hmmmmmm. There's every chance that Dogs win and Wakeham has a decent game so Barrett goes into round 2 with an unchanged side.

I don't really want to play Niu unless forced.. I don't really want him at all to be honest..

Ogden looked decent at the back end of last year I thought. Who knows, but he's as good an option as Alvaro, Stefan etc I think.

@mattnz that’s possible but horses not zebras

@theMVPAKAMTVB possible options. Gotta assume most likely is he’s just injury cover like we would for any other team

@loomer I don’t think trial minutes for a guaranteed starter count for much. I agree. Looking for avoidable downside in fui more than upside for bird

I may leave Avo out also. I don't see the appeal of him enough to warrant still starting with him.

Relies on him getting a top 30 upgrade, but if he got it could see him in the 14 each week. The good thing about Barrett is he isn't afraid to play a bench hooker for big minutes. Fainu averaged 44 minutes off the bench, when stealing minutes off a much better hooker than JMK in Koro. Its a high risk play, but could come out of nowhere and be scoring well.
You can’t compare a 26 year old debutant to Fainu who is an absolute weapon of a player. Plus I thought you had too many hookers already?

    100%.

Probably gone in round 2 when Norman returns and they run with Clune at 14 (maybe?)

Griffin has carried an outside back for years. He used to do it back in his Broncos days. Often played 0 mins.

That was before Cleary went Nuclear and smashed Moses average. Both similar before Cleary added 15 points to his average via KM (+300m) last season. Moses finished both seasons with similar average
