    Thoughts on Reimis Smith?

At centre he should get decent enough base, and Wacko's said that Brenko would be out of the 17 even if he wasn't injured.

Do we think that Griffin changes his pack at kick off with Fui on the edge and Lawrie at lock and Kerr at prop?

Somehow I think Ford comes into the team after a few weeks if not this week as can play middle and edge.

Still think the most reliable guys for scoring will be Vaughan, then Lawrie, then Alvaro. Not sure I would take any other Dragons.

Going off to teach and then to a few meetings now so this is my side locked in for this evening.

I am happy with it. Enough variation from the cookie to differentiate things / close enough not to be too stupid. I am OK without having a big name (C). I am not convinced that Crichton maintains his rage. He is just as likely to score 55-60 and lose coin. My prediction is that Moses will rise and Cleary will come back to the pack a little. I am OK with not having Tedesco as well until after origin.

With only two origin players so I am well-placed for R13 and to me, the whole point of going supercows is having confidence in choosing the right ones. I am confident that at least one will give me what I need from a (C) and I am prepared to try and be smart about who that is from week-to-week.

Hopefully, I am not disappointed but most years to date, I have caved into groupthink at this point and regretted it.

Best of luck for the season everyone.

    McCullogh
    Welch Taukeiaho Asofa-Solomona
    Fifita Capewell
    Moses (C) Fogarty
    Bird Averillo
    Laurie Papenhuyzen (VC) Issako

Turpin Watson Liddle Croker (now everyone is on him Very Happy)

I think there is too much risk he drops out regardless of what Wacko says (We all know how reliable that source can be), especially when there are other options in the 260-340k bracket with better job security. No real evidence of how he would score for the Storm anyway. Better team yes, but will it translate to fantasy?

Levi cost about ~200k more. If Croker matches Levi for scoring, he's worth it.

I'm not expecting him to be a gun and he's not going to be a long-term 60-80 min hooker, but I don't think he's going to be an absolute disaster. Hasler is a good coach, and he obviously thinks he can fill a gap until Fainu returns well enough. Hasler also managed to work around Lichaa for years, so he knows what he's doing in this space.

I think he's safer than George Jennings is, surely he'd just move to the wing if Brenko gets back in?

Dual CTR/WFB is very nice to have and there's not much else at that price range that I like. Any better ideas?

For sure, you will see Bird at LOCK for at least part of the game

I'm warming to Brimson and having a hot 3 at the back.

Pap, Brimson, RTS is a solid back three combo ive considered. Cant Justify having Teddy in there if the other two are quality.

My approach last year was to start with a money back 3. It completely fucked me, didn't even wine and dine me.

I think you could rely on Alvaro getting 35 as your 4th reserve. Even then Leniu will probably do the same. People are playing Host and Lodge and hoping for 40.

I can't believe people think Alvaro is going to do anything.

He was so far off the Parra 17 they loaned him to the Warriors... who barely played him.

It's a faster game now and he's a plodder who doesn't bend the line in attack. I reckon he'll play 15-25 minutes in the middle and average low 20s.

Alvaro does look promising. Based on the timeline of his recruitment looks like Griffin brought him in. Can he get the 30+ mins he needs though with Merrin on the bench too and a bunch of starting forwards who can slip into the middle too. Miss for me

He was locked into my team as (C) until I saw the Warriors bench. I don't think he maintains 80 minutes and his value is thus lost

Had him for ages. But ended up having to drop him back to raise funds for other problems

No to Reimis for me. Averages under 17 without tries. If he scores lots of tries which is possible he may average between 25-30.

Thanks fellas, there's no doubting Croker is a high risk of being a dud. I don't think Levi is a very good comparison, he was 500k, Croker is 300k so much less risky and you can fit him in NPRs. But yeah, should probably leave him in NPRs for the time being.

Me too lol. I know fantasy doesn't always translate IRL but I figure if he loses cash at a 32 avg then he's probably going so bad his career is in doubt, so worth a shot I reckon
