I think I need to take a punt on WFB or a CTR (other than Niu cause I already have) in my EMG's. I feel I need something like a base Simonsson/Saab or a Reimis Smith and hope they can push out a 40+ for some cash gains as I see Moylan, Averillo, Stefano and Niu as guys who will slowly make cash throughout the year.

That's a good point. I'm not keen on Hetherington either, but both him and Lodge could both avg 35 and he's cheaper than Lodge. And he's arguably got 4 games before Thompson back vs 3 games before Haas is back. Lodge probably has a bit more upside, having scored well in the past.

I wouldnt pick macca or host. I'd pick BS9 and Milford instead. Then we can have the same 21
Though I am currently considering Teddy -> Latrell and then Lodge -> any gun up to 850k
Not that any of us would be swayed by the masses , but my version of that trade (Teddy + Lodge -> Latrell and Tohu) is currently running at 13-0 against in the thumbs up. thumbs down page...

Was discussing for all those that are relying on him in their 17 for scoring. If he gets Levi's scoring, while making money, he would be a bad score in your 17.robelgordo wrote:
Levi cost about ~200k more. If Croker matches Levi for scoring, he's worth it.
I'm not expecting him to be a gun and he's not going to be a long-term 60-80 min hooker, but I don't think he's going to be an absolute disaster. Hasler is a good coach, and he obviously thinks he can fill a gap until Fainu returns well enough. Hasler also managed to work around Lichaa for years, so he knows what he's doing in this space.

They don't compare for me.
35 might be Hetho's ceiling and he could very quickly be a 20ppg player when Thompson is back plus Napa and RFM work back to full match fitness.
35 is Lodge's floor for at least 3 weeks and he could easily score 45. And there's a decent chance he retains a reduced but still major role when Haas returns.

Pap, Brimson, RTS is a solid back three combo ive considered. Cant Justify having Teddy in there if the other two are quality.
My approach last year was to start with a money back 3. It completely fucked me, didn't even wine and dine me.
It's hard to consider no Teddy for me, as of 3pm just now I haven't even thought of it until u swooned into the room....

Latrell is probably more tempting because he plays tonight, as stupid as that is. Bit of excitement around the first game of the season.
Probably never going to get much love for a guy like Latrell vs a guy like Teddy no matter who the other options are.

Me too lol. I know fantasy doesn't always translate IRL but I figure if he loses cash at a 32 avg then he's probably going so bad his career is in doubt, so worth a shot I reckon
I love this analogy actually.

No he wouldn't in relation to price per point. Purely moneyball
If he scores above his break even then it is bonus points beyond that
So simply needs to score above 23 pts if you play him and have spent maximum money in your other playing 16 players

Levi averaged 35, everyone is going to be playing a few 35 players in the opening rounds. It was more of a disaster because he was priced as a 35 player.
Hasler chose to retool Croker as a hooker over re-signing Levi. I think he'll do ok.

Thanks for talking some sense into me. I'll keep him. I'm prepared to be underwhelmed, but he should do what I need of him.

Wouldn't get near my bench of Capewell, Watson, Liddle, Riki, with Alvaro as 18th man likely to outscore him as well.robelgordo wrote:

He was so far off the Parra 17 they loaned him to the Warriors... who barely played him.
It's a faster game now and he's a plodder who doesn't bend the line in attack. I reckon he'll play 15-25 minutes in the middle and average low 20s.
Yeah big time, same thoughts. Can't fathom the pick.
There were people saying his fitness wouldn't keep up with the game in the past couple years, imagine this year if that's true..

I only have Brandon Smith playing tonight. I'm expecting a good arm wrestle with the Storm winning.
Latrell and Angus will be kept at bay for most of the game. Angus should score alright fantasy wise. I think Kamicakamica will do well with additional minutes, I'm also expecting a try from Jahrome Hughes.
I can't see Welch or NAS pumping out mouthwatering fantasy scores.
Anyway, we'll see

If you didn't have an avatar bet on the go already...
I'd spot you 10 points on who scores higher between Croker and Alvaro this week.

He had a PPM of 1.21 last season, all base stats. Hardly a slouch. In that dragons pack can easily find 30-35 minutes for 30-40 points.robelgordo wrote:
