It looked like last nights game - with the ball in play more - was played more down the channels and edges than through the middle. Could be a reason for the lower tackle counts of your traditional tackle bot type players?

I’m no expert. So this could be way off the mark.

Its more a souths and storm thing, more than the rules. Playing to their strengths. Rabbitohs left edge vs Storm speed of Papy/Addo Carr etc
Expect Titans/Warriors to be more one out and potentially Bulldogs/Knights etc

Storm have played that way for years, no? They are so good at moving defenses around
There will be plenty of teams that can't think under pressure and extra strain of fatigue this weekend, and just resort to a lot of one out runs/DH runs.

In the past I've noticed Storm shift the ball a lot so middies playing the storm often get low tackle counts, could be wrong though.

Actually, I'm pretty sure i pulled some stats a year or two ago to compare average mid/hok tackle counts to those when playing the Storm and games verse Storm were always lower.

Think that has more to do with the two teams playing the game than the rule changes to speed up the game. South's, especially when Walker gets involved, love to go to the edges. And Bellyache said after the game that they figured with CS9 departing now was as good a time as any to change up their play style rather than the traditional "beat em up the middle" play style.
Can't remember who it was on here last night that said with the new play the ball restart rule certain wingers will suffer due to teams actively avoiding kicking to them and allowing big kick returns. I see some truth to this, albeit from an obviously small sample of one game.

I think the chat here regarding people tearing up their teams is bang on; especially for Arrow.
Until he gets a starting gig it's a wait and see for mine.
As for NAS, my bigger worry is just how gassed he looked - the ridiculous speed of the game, and the amount of time the ball stays in play makes bigger bodies less effective.
NAS really is a bench impact player. For those reasons I'll take the hit, admit my POD choice was a fail and fix it ASAP - either Welch or Tino for NAS is probably my only move.
EDIT: until some injury carnage wrecks my back 5 and I have way too many fires to put out to bother shifting the big lug.

I notice Cleary is now locked as captain. He wasn't last night which i thought was weird. Not that there was any reason to change it.

Haven't seen it mentioned here, but looks like Averillo is set to play with Wakeham getting cut from the extended bench.
Paix cut from Broncos extended bench. Looks good for Turpin

That 6 point downgrade for Host sucks. However every year, without fail there is always a dud Round 1 pick I make. Nature of the game.
I'll see how he goes next week before I make a trade because I can also see whether a Leniu, Croker or Alvaro are good options I can trade him for.

My team's cons:
No Latrell
No Pap
Host
My team's pros:
No Cook
No BSmith
No RSmith
Host in my 18-21
(based on one game, not saying Cook/BSmith will score poorly going forward of course)

Reimis’ score has really put me on a downer. So annoying

That's hardly fair, Host outscored Stimson by 2 whole points in their respective first games!
Plus I don't want to be wrong two years in a row.

Next decision is Avo, Moylan or Croker. Hmm...
