He’s got his price moving which is quality for owners and looks like the guy who will make the most of the injury bug this season because the Sea Eagles are falling down left right and centre.my tv broke wrote:
He's down for 5m in the first game aha. Nearly doubled that in round 2.
Brightside- promising that he made 40 tackles. If he can do that a bit more and keep the negatives to a minimum then maybe he can crack some 30's.

Problem with Capewell was the delusions of grandeur that he was the next Crichton or Matterson when he was always just your everyday underpriced middie who goes well when scoring tries and 30s/40s when he doesn’t like the high majority of all second rowers. Not even like he didn’t have a decent history of his scoring there even playing 80 minutes
Yup, gonna admit defeat, cut my losses. 30s to 40s isn't the most urgent issue on my team lol

Yup said it myself on like maybe 1 occasion. His 80 minutes second row average is....drum rollllll 43. Started season priced around 38 and I projected around 45, so some value was there but wasn’t enough for me. Playing with Cleary he will score a few so if they combine with more 80 minute games than subs then he’ll make some money and score semi decentlymy tv broke wrote:
At 500k if he got 80 every week he'd be fine imo, but they have 3 really good edge forwards for two positions. There's always going to be some subbing/switching/etc going on there and one off week could see Martin starting in that spot for a while. I said the same thing in pre season

Also Cleary said that he'd give them as many minutes as possible. Some took that to mean 80 minutes for Capewell, I took it to mean that the role would be shared and they would play big minutes but not 80 every week, depending on game flow, injuries etc

Was never a bad start, and he looks like scoring a few next to super chin so I’d be riding him until he peaks anyway.Rapture_NRL wrote:

Talking about Panthers edges, how good was Kikau, looked back to his best and injury free for first time in a long time

In hindsight, trading Croker out could already have been seen as a minor panic trade, but I still think he reverts back to 20's and 30's after this weekend and I was so sure Davey had potential to be a bench keeper for the year. Just unlucky. But yeah, definitely not looking to fix my fortunes with panic trades. Just better decisions.
Davey is supremely unlucky.
Every year I like to start with about $50-100k in the bank - to fix those inevitable Round 1 misses.
This year I started with $1k ITB. That left me with quite a limited range of players I could bring in for (dud) Host.
In the end I went with Alvaro, but IF I had the bank I would've 100% gone for Davey - essentially I got (lucky) rewarded for putting myself in a bad position.
Fantasy can be a real fickle mistress in that way, but bad/good fortune never last, it all tends to even out at the end, so if you make it into the top hundred by season end it's because you've played a good game across the whole season irrespective of the good/bad rounds in amongst it.
I like that you're sticking to your guns with Matto (bar a long absence), if the fundamentals of why you got a player haven't changed, then it's best to back yourself & them.

Sometimes people have a way of reinterpreting things to reinforce what they want to hear (confirmation bias?).
The "Cleary said that he'd give them as many minutes as possible" said warning-bells to me, but like you say it said "Capewell for 80" to others...

Adam Blair once had 1 run for 1 try so must have been close

Don't have many issues with my current squad so hoping I can ditch Lam & maybe Turpin to squeeze Fifita in so I don't have to watch Titans games behind a couch

My autofill team made 1000+.

I swear the more I think, the worse I play
I had Cleary, Cook, Crichton, Teddy in one of my drafts. Only Crichton and Teddy lasted

Issues in first week with TO stats. LS said things should be back to 'normal' this week.

Add a TB or two in and he's 40's. Not saying he's keeper but would he be top of your priority to trade out or would you be more patient with him if he'd gone 45-50 wk1 and 40 wk 2? I mean I'm considering trading him myself, just want to make sure its not a Riki scenario.Rapture_NRL wrote:
Even if he had half as many MTs he hits mid to high 30s. Could be wrong on this, but he's acting too middie for my liking

Not fantasy related, but there is a superb quiz on NRL.com about players names, featuring some creative middle names to say the least. Don't want to provide spoilers, but think it's worth a look.

I got 6/10, not the best.

Good point. I'm just looking at it from the perspective that i wanna be building cash early and he's not, whilst also costing me points lol
