The amount of time Bradman Best spends injured is why I’m worried about Suaalii hitting 1st grade before 18. Just because somebody has a big body at a young age doesn’t mean they’re up to the physical demands yet.

So Sam Walker is 78kg...well his size doesn't matter what matters is the size of his heart. In my many years playing league I've seen plenty of small guys put 100+kg forwards on their ass

Yep he looks every chance to break the line even from mundane hit ups. Very big and strong.

If Suluka-Fifita had really punched Arrow, then wouldn't have been sitting and drooling over Hemsworth's body later on.

Watching the game I was sure Arrow had done something to get a reaction from the Roosters forwards and now I only it clicked that it was payback for last year Teddy "incident".

But I think there was no need to take a moral high ground for a milking penalty.

Plus technique is way more important than mass. Jarome Hughes demonstrated that on Thursday night. Made some quality tackles on Kikau, Leniu etc, despite giving away 15-20kg to them.

18 year old 78kg is also a lot different to 25 year old 78kg. Bone density and overall conditioning completely different. In saying that apparently he withstood some big runs from Packer last weekend. It's up to Robbo, he will know the right decision for Walker.

For the record... so far I've only played my prefered 17 in round 1 this year.
Round 2 - Koro and Roberts sidelined
    Round 3 - Cleary sidelined
    Round 4 - Bird sidelined

    Depth is crucial

I’m not exaggerating when I say that bradman would get injured in juniors, miss a month, come back and score 2-4 tries for 2 weeks then injure something else. Given his importance to the team he was a legend but a nightmare to be the physio for.

Also why I didn’t pick him up last year. Was waiting for the injuries that took longer than I expected

He puts a lot of work into his injury prevention work and is built like a brick shithouse but somehow gets injured a lot

    Big loss for my knights

I think it’s pretty naive if you think 18yo rookie Sam Walker is going to defend as well as Jahrome Hughes, who while smallish is 90kgs not 78kgs.

The more I think about it, the more I think Walker will start off the bench. Manu and Hutch halves.

100% you can't do that mate, totally in the wrong for doing it. But to see an international forward milking penalties like that is terrible to watch (imo)

I agree the staying down isn’t a good look but the bloke punched him in the back of the head. Sin bin and suspension should be a given regardless.

The milking is rife at the moment unfortunately. Ball runners deliberately backing in to defenders and as soon as there is any neck / head contact they stay down for a penalty. The proper crusher has to be outlawed but coaches and players are 100% exploiting the rules atm.

So true a good technique, going in hard with no fear & hesitation will result in the perfect tackle. All it takes is for you to hesitate a split second which is the fear factor & two things will happen (a) you will miss the tackle & (b) you will get hurt.

I think this is likely too. Just dont think he will get thrust straight in. Not really robbos style

I am sure his parents and mentors would not have allowed him to play if the risk assessment was on the higher side.

According to this pre-season article, the best players would average just less than 1 TurnOver per game
    https://www.nrl.com/news/2021/02/01/big-winners-from-the-new-nrl-fantasy-rules/

Its only been 2 rounds, but so far there are 52 players averaging 1 TO per game or more
Probably too few rounds played for meaningful data, but it does appear that TOs are being awarded more frequently than was suggested

Fuimaono would have average scores if you take his TOs out. He would have scored 33points in round 2 and 31points this round.
I guess being in the middle does give you more chance of getting a TO

Yeah Bird out next week for me could be an issue if Pappy is still out as well. I have Niu covering both positions.

If I do need to bring in a center, I might look at Peachey. Bird looking like he needs some big plays in a game to hit 30s, could often get low scores when not doing much in attack.

Looking like the coach may have told him he doesn't want to see him running across the field, which is where lots of his points have come from in the past
