To me that shows you probably don't understand State of Origin eligibility rules.
The Tamou and Uate examples are exactly why this argument is a nonsense. The only difference in state eligibility between them and Taumalolo is that they choose to represent Australia and Lolo chose to represent NZ/Tonga.
You could easily unlink state eligibility to national eligibility and have a much better contest that includes players like Taumalolo while still excluding players with no links to Qld and NSW
