He'll be Anthony Gilford by the time we see him again.

Just one of those guys you don't miss when he's out and don't notice when he's there.

He's actually been better this year than for the last 2-3 IMO

The problem with Riki is not an attitude thing, more confidence/gametime thing
He is young and in a spoon team leaking points, so can't blame him just maybe wasn't up to 80mins over TPJ
50mins off the bench in the middle of the game at a roving lock maybe his spot (If Kevvy was smart)
Anyways its fish and chip paper now

Agree. I dont think he was dropped to get a reaction. Hes just young and was playing on an edge that was struggling. He and Piakura will be our long term edges but its all still development at the moment for him.

Fantasy wise he is a trade as he simply wont get the mins if Pangai and Glenn continue to start, but he can probably be pretty effective for us off the bench for a little while

If anything, Riki proved that he is better off as a bench player. I doubt he'll be starting anytime soon.

You're welcome, did anyone else get on the bet? Thumbs up for people that did only please.

I like him for last try scorer bets as well.

Nah, just heat of the moment bullshit, it’s disheartening though, I have two set in stone rules when building a R1 team - 1) no bench forwards, because minutes there are unpredictable

and 2) leave the most expensive player in the pool, reason being is that climbing that high is usually off the back of a career year, and regression is inevitable, it happens every year, saw that in spades with Cleary, he and the Panthers came out of nowhere last year, figured teams would start to figure them out, plus he’s a half and that position is erratic af, even the top echelon sometimes have a crap game, score 30-40 and tank their price enough to jump on at a discount.

I’m still not touching him with a ten foot pole at current price when I’m trying to build a balanced team, logically A 90+ average in fantasy is not sustainable, hell an 80+ point average is not sustainable, but it fucks me how he comes back down from up there.

I suppose everyone is just bored of giving it to Cleary all the time?

But fantasy aside, a try, a hand in a couple of others, a 2 point field goal, kicking game (not necessarily big kms but just owning the field) and instrumental in everything they do? Cleary, then the vacuum of space, then everyone else.

Wonder if he captained him as a POD? 65pts is still a fair effort and was looking like a banner at half time

I am sure someone can find it in the FOG anyways

Normal circumstances this plan works - but in 2021, with Haas out for 4 weeks and McInnes gone for the year, Cleary was the standout reliable captain choice. In my early drafts I'd considered DCE to spread funds across other positions, but picking up the Chin was the best no-brainer call I've made in 6 years of playing this game.

I think he said last week as long as B2 outscores Cleary, he'll be happy.

    Don't think he's happy.

At the start of the year I decided to go with Turpin over Tino. Was on the chopping block after Round 2 and was considering trading him to Egan for similar scores for cheaper in theory but stuck solid and he's delivered since.

Picking Turpin at the start, one of the best decisions of the year. Picking Lam over Townsend has been the absolute worst decision.

Turpin to Egan my only bad trade so far, but it was a big one. I mean the cash saving was good but I didn't even spend it, it's just been sitting there. Meanwhile Turpin's been killing it and plays rd 13 whilst Egan does what Egan does. Fuck, terrible trade....

But, I still think Egan will turn it around, making decent cash..... I've made worse trades.

If Walters dropped Riki to the bench trying to get a reaction out of him then fair call it worked. He was pretty busy for a 20 minute stint.

Didn't miss a tackle, he made some good shots like the way he sprinted to shut down Cleary on a kick. He offers more than Glenn at this point. TPJ stays at edge but Riki may yet get back in the starting side.

Yep of all the players that got dropped I though Glenn was the luckiest to keep his spot. He doesn't offer much other than being (C)

There is probably 100pts difference and 90% similar scoring teams between top 1000 and 10000
Thats the feeling anyways, gained 400 places from the 5000s with 3/330 near your rank
One or 2 POD players can go either way

At least you know you will gain one rank (on me) when your edge plays haha

    340/3 and I've climbed 1000 ranks.
still really close and 1 player can make a big difference.
