I copped a "harmless" clip in the back of the head on Sunday and have been off work all week with concussion symptoms.

The hit was late and it crept up high on a player who has just kicked the ball. Precedent is that they're always going to come down hard on players doing that.

Yeah I thought it looked bad live, but camera was out pretty far. Up close it didn't look much better. Initial contact caught the shoulder, but it's still careless and did make contact with the head in the end.

1-2 weeks seems fair to me. 2-3 a little harsh unless he's got priors.

Seems the perfect compliment to Brooks who pretty much always passes the ball (immediately) and almost never runs it to the line.

Oh, if only the two of them could find a happy medium inbetween...

    Perfect combo:

So what they genuinely have to do, and im not being sarcastic.. is say all kickers cannot be tackled or have pressure put on them in any way. Momo's example last night was a good clean example, yet even Nrl fans are now accepting it was an illegal shot. Will we all follow and love the game when it becomes Oztag ?? How the hell will it be scored in Fantasy !

In all seriousness I reckon eventually footy becomes something like Oztag. This concussion stuff is no joke. In 100-200 years people will look at all the oval shaped footy codes like we look at bare knuckled boxing now

Also think soccer will ban heading at some point in the very distant future at all levels.

And the best part of these predictions is they have the right mix of outlandishness, yet being grounded in reality, combined with being so long-term you can’t say I’m wrong!

Sorry mate, I was writing that before I saw your stance on the matter Laughing

Game's gone soft. I used to cop head shots like that in Under 9's all the time and I'm fine.

Yeah i am all for player protection, especially with the proof of concussions and long term prognosis nowadays. It just literally means that yeah ur right, if we cannot separate what is ok and whats not, it will lead to ur Mel Gibson type theory coming sooner than we think.

Hope you get better soon my bro. The back of the head is softer than the front so it makes sense re your concussion symptoms. You see a lot of players get knocked out with the whip lash when they hit the ground with the back of the head. The front of the head has more protection.

Yeah thanks mate. Scary reading stories about people who have PCS for months on end. I'm really hoping it starts to subside sooner rather than later. It's not been a fun week.
Makes sense with what you say about the back of the head. Didn't see it coming or have a chance to brace either.

Where have u been Filth, not around as much this year ?

Probably been on less this year, yeah. No real reason. Work and social life busier probably plays a part. Trying to catch up on last year.
Definitely haven't been on the computer much this week.

Agree that the 2-3 weeks does seem harsh for Momo.
