so close! I prefer the weekly over the monthly prizes. It gives a lot more player the chance to get a good round. Even so the monthly prize rewards the more skilled players.

I probably would have taken a monthly last year. Had a 4th, ~30th and ~80th for the week in a 4 week span. Think monthly rewards more consistent teams where weekly is basically "how many of your players scored tries"

    Munster to Fog
    Papy to Douehi
    Tino to Leilua
    Tups to Matterson
    Hampton to Koroisau

Making those trades between now and Round 13 will give me a squad of 16 and 20 trades left.
    That sounds reasonable to me?

This might have been discussed already but sounds like verrills is out for quite awhile.. Was going to hold him initially but would be good to turn him into someone playing rd13 now

Roosters hooker Sam Verrills underwent successfully eye surgery on Tuesday night to repair a semi-detatched retina, with coach Trent Robinson indicating his recovery could take anywhere from "a month to two months" on Wednesday.

That 40 average includes 4 tries in 5 games.
Coming off a low of 25 last week and a BE over 50 and with Momo due back next week, in an ideal world you'd probably want to wait.

The worst result would be spending $536k this week, getting a moderate no try 30 score and then have him on the bench until Round 13.

That being said, I think there's some chance that Momi could come back on the wing for Staines. I'd think that would be their best backline IMO.

Interestingly I recall watching something a couple of weeks back where Brad Fittler described Burton as some player and said he thought he looked like one of the best centres in the game - even implied he's in contention for an Origin spot.

Yeah I read MS's game plan about having around 18 trades left going into rd 13 and realised (while getting the rd13 guns) that by max trading I was getting close to a final17 quality team.
My rd13 team after max trading (18 left) now looks like this.

    Mahoney
    Ipap, Watson, Lodge
    Barnett, Lucy
    Moses, Brooks
    Bird, Cini
    To'o, Laurie, SCrichton

    Brailey, Simpkin, Roberts
    (Cleary, Teddy, DFifita,Schuster, Walker)

I'll probaly trade one of Schuster/Walker to Koro/Fog after rd12.

So, you've got 18 trades now and hoping to not trade at all for a few weeks?  I like the tactic, and I'm thinking of burning a trade for SCrichton if I don't get Walsh.  By your second post you're looking to keep him in your centres?

Yeah no trades for me. It's gonna be hard going cold turkey.
Currently I have SCrichton pencilled in as the EMG DPP in my final 17

the timing on the Staggs announcement is interesting, last I heard we promised him 6 if he signed, but he wasn't putting pen to paper until he knew who his halves partner was.

The narrative this past weekend was that Donaghy and Kevvie flew down to Sydney to find a half, reading between the lines, there's a possibility they came back with an agreement from a half that they can't formally announce to the public until the cooling-off period expires, but pleased Kotoni enough for him to put his signature down.

    Moses, Fog
    Momo, Roberts
    Douehi, Brimson, Laurie

All this Staggs to 5/8 talk making the Gamble seem less worthwhile.

Although there’s an argument that a new run-first 5/8 needs a big talker/organiser to partner over the wiles of the Milf

    What sounds better?

    A) Haas and Crichton
    B) Grant and Peachey

Worried I'll miss out on Haas if I don't grab him at a bottomed out price but damn being able to get a decent CTR is appealing if I skip Haas.

If you have 17 in Rd 13, does that mean the best you can hope for is 13 in Rd 17?

Grant and Peachey rolls of the tongue better, but I think Haas and Crichton will net you more points long term

Jeez... I look at all these 16-men Round 13 teams and feel behind the curve, but then remember that if my projected 13-man team can score 25 a week higher in the four rounds before byes than teams with Stefano, Alvaro and Roberts then I'm probably ahead.

Plenty of good options. How many are you targeting for the second bye? 8-12?
