987 sees me up about 1300 spots to 5188, so pretty happy there. Few issues this week with Fifita and Brandon Smith likely to be out. Mahoney potentially out too? Turn around isn’t too short, but what’s his concussion history like?

    Saved 5 trades so far.

Good old hindsight. Before the round started I knew Hampton had to go but wasnt keen at all on Cini or Walsh. To get a Douehi/Trbo I would have needed a downgrade somewhere to find it.

Stefano to Gamble would have been sufficient but again wasn’t keen.

Just feels like I’m not keen on anyone unless they are a base price half or a gun

PS: Also annoys me that single trades like Hampton > Crichton/Nofo I froze on for various reasons

991 for me, needed that after losing ranks for 4 weeks in a row.

Plan was Verrills to Koro or Matterson this week and think I'll stick with that, try and bank the other one. Probably leaning to Matterson to come in.

Will hold Welch for another week at least I think with Smith out

Brimson wasn't a disaster mate (yet) cheer, 46 without a try quite promising actually

Missed the footy and the forums yesterday, any major news that isn't obvious from the scoresheet??

Not picking up Turbo turned out to be the wrong move. Looks like some big scores on Sunday which slowed down any rank gains I thought I may have gotten. Finished with 984 for the week.

I've banked 5, but it feels neither here nor there. Not really enough to be a big advantage, given my rank. Just need to make the right moves I guess.

I can probably hold trades again this week, but a move to try and pump up my points scoring may be in order. Haven't really thought about anything yet though

One question - where did Walsh play when he came on.. five eighth? Who went to hooker?

Niko went to hooker. As soon as Walsh came on Turbo ran passed him a couple of times to setup long range tries. Walsh did get a try and try assist though so interesting to see what the Warriors do moving forward.

Yeah if it wasn't for Turbo we would have gained a bit more. But it is what it is.
I'll be holding trades for my main team, but I'll double trade with my POD team. Looks like i'll be joining the Carty party

Walsh looked be defending at Centre and him and Pompey had some big communication issues. Both guys hanging back just made this big gaps for Turbo to stroll on through.

I see. I just read Brown comments saying he is unsure how to use Walsh going forward and it was clear Manly knew how to attack them when he went to five eighth.

I didn't grab Walsh so I'm just looking for little wins here. haha

The kid is super talented and his big problem seems to be the fact the warriors don't know how to use him yet. The had CHT and Niko start but they are too similar, both offer good running but pretty ordinary kicking. Warriors last tackle options have been letting them down for so long and yesterday was not really any different. Nikorima passed the ball to the ground when they had a 3 man overlap. In the 2nd half CHT kicked the ball to the middle of the park on 5th every time, which seems crazy when you have big Ken on the wing and he's meant to be one of the best ball challengers in the comp.

In all seriousness he should probably play some reserve grade. He only played his first game of senior footy in the Broncos vs Cowboys trial. He is young and a future star but you can see there is a fair bit to work on still.. Warriors halves problems aside.

Just like to quote both those posts to emphasise it.

    a) Trading someone who then gets injured isn't a bad trade. There is no need to change your strategy

    b) Keeping a player in your team if they are out for 3 months does not equate to saving a trade. You'll want to trade them out at some point so do it as soon as there is someone affordable that you want in your team. Waiting a week or 2 may make sense if you are waiting for someone else to drop in price, but holding Hampton for 10+ weeks is not going to give you a big advantage.

If (unclear at this stage) QLD government only allow those in the NRL bubble to fly into Brisbane for magic week - SMH reporting Eels may only have 17 players available.   Unlike every other team, Eels played all their fringe players in reserve grade, despite warning from NRL.  (This is why Leniu didn’t play this weekend)

The Sydney restrictions are barely anything. Wear a mask indoors, and sit down in a pub.

As far as I'm aware there is nothing preventing thousands of fans travelling up to Brisbane this weekend for the games, and they will mingle more than the teams will.

If the borders are going to close it will be nice to get a bit of notice beforehand.

I don't think they will shut the borders without a huge outbreak. QLD gov stated last week they've changed their approach and won't be closing borders like they were previously.

Additionally.. the govt stands to make a heap of cash from the event...

    Yeah Niko moved to hooker
