a) Trading someone who then gets injured isn't a bad trade. There is no need to change your strategy
b) Keeping a player in your team if they are out for 3 months does not equate to saving a trade. You'll want to trade them out at some point so do it as soon as there is someone affordable that you want in your team. Waiting a week or 2 may make sense if you are waiting for someone else to drop in price, but holding Hampton for 10+ weeks is not going to give you a big advantage.
