Plans may change suddenly, like a couple of must have cows appear or players in your team get season ending injuries and you don't need to trade Fifita out afterall. Best to keep the flexibility to keep him if possible.Liverpool_Bulldog wrote:

I am going Simpkin to Starling Mulvy. Would rather the potential for 150k+ and 50+ scores for 475k than a MAYBE 40 from Simpkin in R13 and the real possibility he will be a 20 min bench player behind Liddle moving forward. Also gives me contingency if both Pappy and Walker are out. Like you said obviously won't touch him if there's a shuffle in the 24H team lists.
Welch to Koro or Mahoney next round.
I can't really argue with it. You know the risks and it will be completely worth it, if Starling continues starting.
I'm holding Simpkin though. He might come back in. Even if Roberts comes back in I'd never play him, and if I had to play him for his 10 points, I might as well just play one short at centre for a week. Hopefully Bird and Peachey can stay on the park and I don't care about Roberts' 10 points in Rd 13 on the off chance he even plays. So yeah no qualms about my trade outs, just need to convince myself Starling is a trade in.

Didn’t realise there was no Thurs night footy this week. 24 extra hrs of pointlessly mucking around with trades I don’t need.

Simpkin/uto will be back. What MS said earlier in the week was spot on.

A question for you....
Why is Will Smith not playing 5/8 this week yet the coaches son is?

My argument against trading Starling in:
Starling is a great value buy, if he keeps the mins he will make some good cash, but he doesn't play round 13.
The bye rounds this season are very different from each other. Round 13 is rich with value and potential season keepers. Round 17 on the other hand is dirt poor with lack of value and hardly any season keepers.
I recommend any sane fantasy coach to pick up the tullips of round 13, but wait before picking up rd17 players. It will be easy to do a sideways trade to Starling between the bye rounds if he does well.
Round 17 bye potential season keepers are Tohu, Taumalolo, AFB, Ramien, maybe SJ (if he finds form) and RTS (if Walsh doesn't push him to the wing again)... and maybe Starling.
Let me know if you can think of anyone else...

Cheers mate. And if he does he'll score reasonably well, whereas if Roberts comes back in, I'm not expecting a miracle turn around in scoring.
What's your take on Starling? I have to admit, I quickly skimmed that nrl article earlier today on a coffee break and thought, nothing to see here. Reading it again this evening after reading the views on here and did indeed seem to take on a new meaning.

You are a very intelligent chewbacca. Will mull over Starling over the next couple of days.

Just realised I can go Roberts to Starling, keep Simpkin, and still go Welch to Koro next round. Now that's awfully tempting to be honest. Obliterates any centre cover though.

Manu (or I suppose JMorris) as a centre. Possibly Thompson at the Dogs. ARey if Souths go on a tear. There isn't much...

35-40 points and then some bigger minutes in round 13. Hopefully he is over 500k at some point between now and round 17 so I can move him on for a tidy profit

SST will be cheap AF come R17 and worth picking up.
Averillo I'm probably classing close to a CTR keeper as owner* (any CTR playing is a keeper )

The last few seasons, with 1 exception the Raiders starting hooker has played at least 60 minutes and rarely played less than 70 minutes, despite a back up hooker almost always on the bench.
Unless you are claiming every game Havili played as 1 exception, this stat is straight up incorrect
In fact Havili played 9 games as a starter last year for an average of 42 minutes and 0(zero) games of 60 minutes
