I had to go in to work last Sunday and could only listen to the game and not check Fantasy scores. I thought he would have beaten Cleary's record fantasy score and hit at least 130 listening to the call. Was relieved he barely managed to tonne up!

Well I've unfortunately become accustomed to my team getting beaten fairly regularly the last couple of years but for the first time in 35 odd years of watching League - I turned the game off tonight.

I don't like losing but I will still watch to the end or sit in the stands to the 80th minute of every game....but not tonight - that wasn't a contest and that certainly wasn't sport.
In fact, it was akin to watching a boxing referee tie the hands of a bloke already getting well and truly belted.

And please spare me the absolute dribble about protecting players and that these crack downs shouldn't be controversial anymore.
That's the sort of illogical nonsense we have accepted for far too long, which has got us into this situation.

After Riki was binned, I watched (my players BTW) innocuously - but still technically come into contact with the head of a bloke in every single tackle of the following set.
    Every. Single. Tackle.
It was the exact same minor force but by the letter of the law, all these blokes should have been binned too.

So where is the uproar there?

I have no qualms with protecting players where we can but it has to be so far as is reasonably practicable.

If we are going to ruin the sporting contest, we can't be in no man's land like we are.
Minor incidental head contact is either accepted as a reasonable risk when entering the field of play, or all situations where a head can be contacted (i.e. every tackle) should be eliminated.

That'd be quite fun actually. I'll put a tenner on the first two.

There will always be contact with the head in a full contact sport but there is "contact with the head" and there is "contact with the head". You cant just blanket say they are all the same. "Force". What the fuck does this mean. Its a tackle.

Thinking common sense and fan backlash will mean the NRL find some middle ground. And as Honeysett said, why the fuck do this in Magic Round.

For me if they want to sort this out then they need to punish the reckless and intentional more harshly and consistently, both during play and then afterwards at the judiciary. Continue to treat the accidental ones as they always have.

Just read on twitter we need 5 more this round to have more sin bins than 2015.

This will be taken care of during the first game tomorrow

Surely they cant changed their tune half way through a round though? Cant have 4 teams play under them and go oh dear better make it more fair for the others

If you don't like the rules currently implemented in Rugby League, don't worry, in 6 weeks time you can try some new ones.

My bet, if they are going to continue with constant sin bins, they'll reduce them to 5 minutes, or let players back on if they concede a try.

They shouldn't be changing rules half way through a season. Half way through a round us hardly much worse
