Another point is that a relatively vocal contingent have been asking for more sin bins when teams repeatedly infringe defending their own line. Now that it's happening it seems to be ruining the game. Is it a case of be careful what you wish for. Or were those comments only supposed to apply to the Roosters

There was a "crackdown" on the professional fouls last week that got talked up, they were going to start dishing out send offs etc but then the refs just never actually acted on it.

I am 333/7 at the moment. Fleglers 35 was a nice surprise considering how he was going with 20 minutes to go. I honestly might still look at Gamble if he keeps his spot as a replacement for Simpkin.

Yeah. I mean, it essentially follows the same formula as most sports movies but everything is done so well and the lead actress is outstanding. It was compelling and I don't even know how to play chess. Made me want to learn.

I think there would be all sort of legal and moral issues in getting the players to sign something like that. The reality is that headknocks are getting cracked down on by every contact sport. They might say it is for player welfare but in reality it is to cover themselves for any kind of lawsuit down the track.

Maybe it will kill the sport, or people will just get used to it like fighting/shoulder charges. Who knows. But it won't be stopped.

I guess I'm just missing the league that I grew up with.

I think everyone does, and it sucks. It is just a reality in todays world that a lot more parents are stopping their kids playing contact sports because of the potential dangers and sports are doing everything to lessen that or they will die out in the future.

Best thing I've seen in years - HIGHLY recommended, the characters, the script, the staging - everything about it is outstanding.

Used to have an ACF rating of around 1900. Probably equivalent to 1850 Elo by FIDE or so back in the day. No idea if I'm better or worse now
