It’s an unreliable/low scoring position, but in terms of carnage it only feels worse because (a) nobody wants to waste trades/money at CTR, and (b) by not wanting to waste trades/money at CTR we end up picking less secure/cheaper players and contribute further to wasting trades/money at CTR. It’s self inflicted to a degree.
In the top 15 scoring players this year (by average), 4 have played every game
In the top 15 scoring CTRs this year, its... 4. Down to 3 after this week with Peachey but not a crazy number.
If you went 2 of Peachey/Averillo/Bird from the start you’ve done as well as you would have in any position IMO. It just feels worse when they have a 1-2 week out, compared to Cleary/Papy/Fifita/Harris etc who are easier to either hold or trade depending on setup when they have missed games
But you shouldn’t care anyway because that’s the deliberate strategy with CTRs
In conclusion just get Crichton or Kelly and stop spending 20 pages on it. That’s my TED talk.

I started with Bird, Roberts, Niu and Reimis. The only time I copped a 0 was because I had to use Reimis in WFB to cover Teddy.
My centre strategy has always been to get the cheapest options with decent job security and fantasy upside. I don't mess around with your Averillos, Cini, Talau, Bowen types that have comparable talent behind them and could be dropped at any time. Pick centres that are too good to drop or play for good teams that don't lose every week so you don't have to worry about one way to lose them.
Injuries and suspensions to the likes of Peachey, Momo, Roberts, Ramien, Best etc are bad luck rather than bad management.
Basically if your centre choice gets dropped it's probably your fault, if they get injured/suspended that's just fantasy

That's all well and good and I don't disagree, but can I just say that with the 4 you started with that:
Niu - Got Dropped
Roberts - Absolutely had the potential to be dropped (let alone injury/game-absence history)
Bird - Probably only Ryan James and Jacob Liddle could rival him for a worse history of recent injuries
Reimis - To start the season was largely viewed as a placeholder for Origin incumbent Brenko Lee - Definite potential to be dropped.
So two survived, which is probably more a testament to you electing to have better depth in that position than most were prepared to (which was a good call).

TU: Cotric
TD: Tommy Talau + 100k
Not worried about the Bye as I have 2 Centres for 13 already.

Heh, yes, pump out some stats that suit your argument and we'll all smile and nod and ignore what we can see with our own eyes, thanks PVL!multiple.scoregasms wrote:
