"he won't be playing for the next couple of weeks at least as he continues to recover. We'll take a really conservative and cautious approach with ryan. There's no point for us or for him in terms of welfare and health in rushing him back".

a bit contradictory to Ponissi comments yesterday, but he sounded pretty strong on the above.

Yeah this make my decision, need to trade one of Pap/Angus to get 17 (could trade one of Lodge or Peachy but that seems counterintuitive).

I would love to keep Pap as I have held this long & he is more scary than Angus not to have.....but the ambiguity is telling me which way to go.

On the bright side when Hynes tonnes up again on the weekend he will be a straight swap back to Pap flower (serious fate tempting).

I wasn't. I was going to punt him and therefore missing 12 was the kicker to do it.

Storm CEO comments on Papy are a little more concerning than what Ponissi said, so its starting to become clear that Papy should go instead of a FIT crichton.

I agree. If I knew Pap was back soon I'd punt Gus no worries. FIT being the operative word.

What do you reckon happens with Lodge?? Surely, given recent form, he has to play next week with Haas at SOO unless the deal is already done......

I was not planning to hold him before suspension. It has just brought forward his trade date 1 week

Sounds like it was all but done aside from ironing out how much Broncos will chip in. I'd be surprised if Lodge is still with us for round 13 tbh, but the Broncos might hold him for that week? Doesn't really matter though, we aren't contending for anything.

Rhys Kennedy has a virus and didn't complete training today but Walters says he will be good to go tomorrow.

Certainly makes Fleg a compelling option. Whether or not he can average 42+ from here is the question. Reading between the lines it seems the platform is already set for Lodge's departure with Green's retirement. 38 mins last week starting lock is suspicious.

I hear that. If trading Pap might as well get Nicho I guess. Walker to Nicho kinda makes sense.

Yeah I thought most people would be looking to trade him out over Origin. Perhaps plans changed with additional trades used to deal with injuries/suspensions and field 17 week-to-week.

EDG has been a great scoring position - contrary to preseason expectations - and Crichton is far from essential IMO when there’s Fifi, Harris, Papalii/Matto/Leilua/TPJ (all R13 players), Friz, Murray, even Schuster could easily stay in your team all season. And Wade Graham.

Yeah, I would have traded him next week. Doe Gus walk straight back into origin team for games 2 and 3? Assume so.

Looking at a previous post of yours, you have 17 trades left.

That means 4 guys in your team are guaranteed to be there for the rest of the year (Teddy is one, but there will be 3 others)

If you trade out Tommy + Cleary and get them back in again, that is 4 trades on 2 spots.

So you'd have 13 trades left for 15 spots, which means another 2 players currently in your squad (in addition to Teddy + 3 from earlier) are there for the rest of the season.

That also assumes that every trade you make is for someone that will stay in your team. If there is anyone else you trade in with the goal of trading out for cash, that means 1 more person you can't spend a trade on.

Do you know which 6 people you will be keeping in your team? And do you have a backup plan in case one of them gets a long term injury/suspension.

I'd make sure you can answer that question before trading out people you want in your final team

Injuries/suspensions have probably been worse this year than last year. Combine that with a lot of popular fantasy players getting dropped, and most people are going to run out of trades earlier than usual this year.
Try and make sure you at least have a good team when that happens.

So I have 15 trades as I have locked in 2 for this week. I'm pretty happy with most of my team. I have 4-5 players that I wanna move on to get to my final team. Plus the 4 trades to move the origin players out and back in.

So if all goes well I'd have 6-7 trades left... might have to reconsider some things..

    Does Fleg play Origin 1? What is our forward depth (currently healthy);

    (In no order)
Tino, Welch, Arrow, MoFo, Hess, Flegler, Napa, Lui, Horse, Wallace, Ofa?

Of that list I imagine it most likely

    8. Welch
    10. Tino
    13. Arrow
    14. Utility
    15. Su’a
    16. Other
    17. Other

This was my plan but the issue with bringing forward his execution date a week, is that TPJ was my target, pending his non-selection in SOO.

Now I have to decide to take a punt with TPJ or go with IPap.

Was/am also considering Martin (I actually had him traded into my team 2 weeks ago before Walsh scored a 70-odd in the loop position...), Matto or CHN.

I am reluctant target Rd 17 players yet though because as we have seen, too much can happen week to week.

Yeah that's my feeling unfortunately, have held him and he has been very solid (both for my fantasy team and IRL) but will see how it plays out over the next week or so.

Doubt he slots straight into the Knights starting front row R13/14.......pessimistic about my R13 plans there but not sure it's worth a trade at this stage.
