    Luke Thompson

Averaging 58 in 58 minutes this season so far. Scored two tries so far too. In the one game that he had with Jackson, he played 50 minutes. Passes the eye test - is busy on the field, and has a bit of attacking upside. Plays for a shit team though. Doesn’t play R13 but will play every game afterwards barring injury and suspension. Only available in MID at 682k

    Tevita Pangai Junior

Averaging 59.3 in 80 minute second row games this season - also scored two tries so far. Also plays in a shit team but his spot and minutes are secure. Attacking upside but not that much of a work rate, also in a shit team. DPP MID EDG at 695k. Concern is risk of suspension due to his history, and is apparently an Origin bolter. If traded in this week, and then gets picked for Game 1, he loses his Round 13 playing value. And then will miss Round 17 due to a bye/Origin

    Any thoughts appreciated!!

Well TPJ is an Origin risk at this stage but he's got some big scores in him and more secure when it comes to minutes. Thompson for instance played just 45 minutes last weekend.

Easiest way to check would be looking at fixture list and seeing if R13 & R17 are on there?

Should also be a setting that says whether bye rounds are on or off

Ahh cheers mate, completely overlooked that settings tab. Bye rounds turned on so will continue on with that strategy. Walker to Hynes is the play for me I think

My sole focus is my work H2H league and I can't find anything in the FAQ about how the bye rounds work. So next week for Rd13, will I just play the next guy as I usually would in any other round? I've heard things such as us not even having a H2H matchup in rds 13 and 17? Is this true?

I've been focusing on trying to bring in RD13 players, but if we don't play that week that strategy makes no sense

Either way, cheers for all the tips so far this season fellas. I started out 1W-2L after three weeks and am now 8 on the trot, equal top of the table at work and couldn't be happier

It depends upon the person who sets up the league to have H2H during the bye rounds. Should be able to check up on fixtures list

Yeah the community team is in the same position with Walker and Alvaro in the 17. I was leaning towards upgrading Alvaro to Luciano for +20, mainly because the Walker trade ideas are origin candidates and would suck if Walker scored around the same and both missed next week.

Walker's KM base has tanked last 2 weeks with the return of Lam, so it is concerning having to rely solely on the attacking stats. Pretty good chance Walker makes way next week for someone who misses out on origin, but on current prices being able to upgrade Walker to 757k and those targets under 700k, the 68 BE for Walker isn't much of an issue.

See, I'm thinking Burton, but I only have 34K. So there's every chance if scores go the same way I can't afford it next week. Walker my only trade option at this stage unless others miss out on selection or play Origin.

But the Fog isn't a guy that you bring in relying on attacking stats. All owners want is for him to kick the fk outta the ball, and make a good amount of tackles with a few goalkicks.

Check who you’re up against in H2H. In many cases you’ll be playing someone who hasn’t given any thought to Rd 13 and you won’t need to trade to win.
Also, for H2H, you want to end the year strong so saving trades is more important.

Yeah his output though was immense in that time. 69 but with a try. I kind of want to see how he does with Jackson back this week.

But I need a MID for Angus and these appear the best options unless I splash for Papali’i.

Or I can just keep Angus and run with only 2 MIDs. Save a trade and run with 16

Yeah that's tight.. Burton's racking up tries at CTR and playing Dogs is the last thing you wanna see. CTRs though..

Maybe just go with your gut when talking a 1 game performance, but a 40-45 from Burton puts him around 503-509k. A 30 from Walker (avg 43 though) around 478k.

So a 25-31k difference next week, but as long as Burton doesn't get an origin bench role (I don't think he will, but who knows?), would be better off just making the trade this week if you're thinking those numbers are realistic.

Looking at my team, I'll have 13 if everyone suits up & the following non-R13 players:

    Cleary
    Tohu
    Teddy
    Averillo
    Starling
    Walsh
    Schuster
    Crichton

Who would you be trading out of that lot?

Cleary & Tohu aren't going anywhere, I'm reluctant to sell Teddy when I also have to get Pap and DiFi back in, Averillo looks like a keeper and I don't want to mess around with CTRs for a R13 number, Starling, Walsh ideally still have money to make.

    That leaves Crichton and Schuster.

Just thinking if Crichton is going to be a sell anyway, maybe it is better to get rid of him this week.

Cheers for the thoughts pal. Leaning towards it but there are cheaper options like Fleg next week if I don't. I would think Burton is next to no chance at Origin. All hype, madness to chuck him in.

That's the thing. None of those warrant sacrificing IMO.

Yeah I kinda feel that way too. Maybe 13 for R13 is sufficient. Solidifies me trading Walker this round though to get up to that.

An understrength Storm team, a Roosters side that lost to the Broncos and the Raiders are hardly a threat.

The Titans can't defend but they sure know how to attack, I think he'll go alright.

Everyone's team make-up is different, but my reasons for holding Walker for the community team:

    - Used a lot of trades already and using 1 on Pap to have 17.
    - A lot of the guns I'd trade Walker to are in contention for origin and will still be affordable next week.
    - Plays 80 mins in a normally good team, albeit struck down with injuries/suspensions currently.
    - Plays Rd 17 if other fires start and maybe bounces back after last week's shocker.

I've kneejerk traded others in the past after a shocker and regretted it. People did that with Best last year after a 6 too from memory.

For some, it might be a no-brainer to upgrade him now when crunching the numbers, but not so clearcut for others.

nice opportunity to plug the community team trade poll for the week - https://www.nrlfantasyfanatics.com/t1670-rd-12-trades
