Yep, unfortunately.

Someone needs to tell him that 4 well timed offloads are better than 15 where 10 of them go into the crowd or onto the ground

My R17 targets are Tohu, AFB, Harper and Verrills.

There's a joke somewhere about offing loads and things getting sucked....
A load on time is better than 4 splashed onto the crowd?
nah, doesn't scan
But fair play to anyone who can pump out 15 in 80 minutes

Who do we think is likely to get it?

I have been fortunate to date and have avoided most of the drama. But it leads to an interesting question about capatilising on good fortune. As with most discussions around strategies and forward planning there seems to be three basic options. Do more, do less, do the same.
Obviously, players avoiding injuries and suspensions is 90% luck, with 10% of good management/player selections.
As a result of good fortune, im currently sitting inside the top 230. With 17trades and 150k itb.
Currently, my strong view is to do nothing. Protecting a rd 14 rank is silly, and that the real gains will be made up from rd 20 onwards. My approach for the byes is minimise damage, focus on quality over quantity. Doing nothing limits the risk of wasting trades on coin goats. As long as im fielding 16/17 as frequently as possible, and that the predicted scoring is competitive, I'm in no rush to change my team.
Agree strongly with Matt about loading up on WFBs. I currently have Laurie, Teddy, Turbo, Hynes. By end of season, ill hopefully have Teddy, Turbo, Pappy, Mitchell.

Yeah I agree with you. I'm not focusing too hard on bye numbers, more so just trying to load up on guns that happen to play each bye. I'll probably have 11 next week and a similar number for the 2nd bye but if all goes to plan (it won't but I can dream), I'll have 7-8 trades left after Origin of which I would use two to get Fifi and Papy back.
My goal is to have 5-6 trades, 17 guns and Walsh/Rapana as 18th/19th men by round 18-20, if that can happen then I'll be in a pretty good position

Also agree. I had been focusing on bye trading, but with Angus suspension and Haas injury and a few in the mix for origin, I'll be focusing on quality moving forward. Definitely want a solid 19 and trades in hand for the point end.Bethany_B wrote:

I'm way to disorganized to think that far ahead, in terms of who will be my 18/9th men. I'm honestly likely to try get the best 19 players i can. Ensuring that in my 14-19 i have some solid DPP players, Schuster - Ipap etc.

If Walsh could get WFB/HLF that would be handy.Bethany_B wrote:
Yeah it's after this round
Taulagi getting WFB dual is one I can think of, also Olakauatu should get EDG dual, and hopefully Kobe Hetherington can get MID dual (though he may need to wait for round 18 to get that)
It's been working for meAardvark wrote:
