None are absolutely nailed on must picks though. Both have some question marks.

I went Walsh. I hear WFBs are all the rage these days

Who do we think is likely to get it?

Not sure all these will, but I think they should:

Haumole - add EDG, although with him injured this week they might forget him
Hess - should’ve last time got MID
Nat Butcher - has been playing EDG every time he starts
    Joe Ofa - add EDG
    Chris Smith - add EDG
    Keppie - EDG
    Topine - HOK
Fermor - CTR, maybe a reach
    Taulugi - WFB
Cini - WFB, definitely a hold lol
    S Marsters - WFB
Whichever one of Meaney and Allen is now playing CTR should get it (EDIT: neither is this week, disregard)

I'm seriously thinking about ditching my current strategy in favour of buying guys who score a lot of points and don't get injured or suspended

You should also consider buying the ones that are cheaper. They are less expensive and therefore will cost you less.

Fortitude wrote:There have been so many random injuries/suspensions to relevant players, it can only be be assumed that most are smashing the trades.

I have been fortunate to date and have avoided most of the drama. But it leads to an interesting question about capatilising on good fortune. As with most discussions around strategies and forward planning there seems to be three basic options. Do more, do less, do the same.

Obviously, players avoiding injuries and suspensions is 90% luck, with 10% of good management/player selections.

As a result of good fortune, im currently sitting inside the top 230. With 17trades and 150k itb.

Currently, my strong view is to do nothing. Protecting a rd 14 rank is silly, and that the real gains will be made up from rd 20 onwards. My approach for the byes is minimise damage, focus on quality over quantity. Doing nothing limits the risk of wasting trades on coin goats. As long as im fielding 16/17 as frequently as possible, and that the predicted scoring is competitive, I'm in no rush to change my team.

Agree strongly with Matt about loading up on WFBs. I currently have Laurie, Teddy, Turbo, Hynes. By end of season, ill hopefully have Teddy, Turbo, Pappy, Mitchell.

Agree re WFB’ too I currently have Teddy, Tommy T, Walsh, Hynes and Laurie.

I have a feeling NSW will line up
    6. Wighton
    7. Cleary
    14. Walker

If this is the case, wouldn't it be wiser to have another forward named as 18th man due to the fact that they already have a back up half/utility on the bench?

I'm really just trying to convince myself Burton is a good trade in.

Plenty with up to 4 of them

I don't think having all 5 is super -common. But those that do have them all will no doubt post to let you know about it. (especially those that got Tommy, Walsh and Hynes early)

Kaufusi is contesting the trip charge

Video at the top here. Not exactly sure how you are going to claim innocence there.

If you slow it down and zoom in you can see Kaufusi mouth the words "have a nice trip?"

Disclaimer: i haven't watched the footage.

It’s probably for the best Kaufusi doesn’t play Origin. There is no way he lasts 80 without doing something being cracked down upon in an even faster, more intense game.

Misses 1 game with or without contesting so may as well contest it and hope to get off

Maybe trying to move his leg out of the way, which made it look like a trip?

Seriously, that is pretty bloody soft

Can the charge be downgraded? To something like an "involuntary reflex"

Do we think Walsh is a nailed on starter at FB now. Or is the official line still that he will be rested frequently?

I watched the video and thought it looked clear as day that he kicks Turpins leg. Isn't it 1 game whether he is guilty or not anyways?
