On a more serious note, I'll be looking at Walsh (for Laurie), SJ (for Brooks), and maybe Simo (for Roberts) this week

If all goes well with team lists might just do Laurie to Wilton this week

All this talk of being in rd17 players, the list is as long as the clubs lining up to sign Corey norman.

Only a small few obvious picks. Tohu etc.

Reckon I’ll just sit on my team for a few weeks, bank as many trades as I can. Keep an eye on BEs, if I’m going to burn trades for rd 17, I’ll just bring in those that have low be’s. For those that have high ones. Straight in and out swaps. Or as close to.

Not many players I’ll want in my team for more than 2-3 weeks.

I too was thinking of Brooks -> SJ.

Aside from the R17 upside (which is fairly compelling), he's likely a 55-60? scorer vs Brooks at 50-55 - which is fine so long as he doesn't get injured... which he does... a lot...

It just feels like one of those trades that needs a fair bit to go right to work out (but has a good chance of ending up being a sideways shuffle).

I may have to flip a coin on it

I don't think Walsh will make the Maroons, certainly not in the 17 anyway.

He is still ONLY 18. Played like 5 games, it wouldn't surprise me if the Warriors decline him going, simply for the reason he is young and played handful of games, they are trying to protect him in club level let alone Maroons. It all seems too much too soon. Maybe if he was playing from Round 1 yes, but a month ago nobody had heard of him.

Yeah round 17 is an interesting one, I only have 4 rd17 players atm so I need to do a bit of a sideways reshuffle to get some acceptable numbers.

    Verrills - good cash out
    Starling - yeah nah
    Thompson - not bad
Tauk - why didn't he play last weekend
AFB - once his scores pick up again
Taumalolo - bring back the old Tolo
    Tohu - yes
Wilton - nice, cheap, but not long term
CHN - boom,/bust 45 avg according to MS
    SJ - good, but risky
    ARey - same as SJ
Ramien - pricey for a CTR
Avo - unlikely fantasy gun, expensive after last rds score
    Walsh - yes
    Suaalii - JS isn't great
    Simo - EMG back-up
    RTS - depends on role

Yeah, I can't see it either.

The only way I see Walsh playing, is if the Maroons think the only way they win is with a 36-32 type score line and need to generate much more attack.
In reality, they have good spine players who can generate points. It's their defense that needs improvement (which ain't going to come from 18 yo Walsh).

Yeah not a lot of great R17 options. I think I'd prefer to build up cash and aim for actual guns like DCE, Cook and Fifita.

I've already been burnt trading in R13 'guns' like Matterson. The 73 was good, the three 40 and under scores not so much.

Got an eye on Josh Jackson, giving him a few more weeks to see if he’s the real deal. DPP at under 620k

Also Keighran potentially over Verrills dependin on team list

I don't think Walsh' parents will let him play origin because he might lose his lunch box in the sand pit when he's building sand castles.

Jackson is a no from me, especially with the crackdown on grubby plays, he is likely to be binned, sent off, and suspended

Annoyingly the only players I wanted to trade out haven't matured yet - Gamble and Jones.
Probably two trades this round and four trades befrore the bye rather than the other way around.

I used to think Adam Elliot was a decent guy, hard worker, always playing for his team... but then he had a few off season Incidents and a couple other things I can’t remember that now I think he is a grub and a dropkick!
