839 for the round, 5,596th overall. Treading water a bit at the moment, despite burning trades and money! 13 trades left with $29k in the bank.

With the cavalry returning, I can see an argument for holding fire this week. For me, Laurie is probably the only possible trade-out…

Watson
Matterson (I'm not keen but others in the main thread have mentioned it)
Kelly - a bit of money wrapped up in a third centre who doesn't play 17

I think 13 trades left is a lot so should be using a couple this week.
I'd probably be keen for Laurie and Kelly out... in? Verrils + anyone up to 735k?

Cook as a set and forget keeper?
Tauk as a cheap possible keeper who plays 17?
Taupau? Reynolds? Johnson?

Do we not have hooker or mid back up outside the 13?

Upgrades could include:

Hynes -> Papy (-$58k)
CHN -> AFB (+$17k)
Schuster -> Fifita (-$304k)
Laurie -> Mahoney (-$139k)
Watson -> Lolo (-$42k)

And current downgrades:

Jones -> Nufty (+$80k)
Suaalii -> Nufty (+$50k)

As Filth mentions, you could throw Taupau, SJ, ARey in the mix too as round 17 players.

In theory, that would give us:

Matterson Fifita
Cleary Moses
Bird Peachey
Tedesco Turbo Papy

Fogarty Crichton Harris Mahoney
Walsh Kelly Nufty Nufty

But with only $29k in the bank, we’re approx $370k short. Price movements on AFB, Fifita, Lolo, Papy (down) and CHN, Jones, Suaalii (up) should work in our favour. But 7 trades for those existing upgrades/downgrades means 6 trades for injuries/suspension and cash generation.

So the question is how to get there, while boosting round 17 numbers? As Filth mentions there is a bit of cash in Kelly - if we were to trade him I’d want reliable CTR cover so as not to burn more trades on that position (does Timoko qualify?).

Simple one seems what's been discussed with Laurie to maybe Verrills? At least gives us a backup hooker if we decide not to get another gun hooker, but assume Mahoney or Cook would come in at some stage.

We have 5 for round 17, 6 if we throw in Verrills. Could use a second trade this week to turn Watson into Taupau, SJ or ARey I guess.

Not sure I like Kelly to Timo. Doesn't net that much cash and is a bit of an unknown.

Simonsson should probably on the list of potential trade-ins too. Seems pretty popular on the forum and I think I've had my arm twisted.

I'm in the same boat. I'm banking on him securing the starting role with good minutes. If Keighan somehow nails it down (I don't think that will happen but he could eat into V's mintues) well it's not ideal
