I understand the dislike/hate for Lodge but I do think it's pretty disproportionate to the hate other scumbags of the NRL get.

Greg Inglis, johnathon Thurston, Joel Thompson are the ones that get me, get held up like poster boys but are Fucking grubs with a history of beating their mrs, drink driving and sleeping around.

Have a look at some of the games most loved players.

JT - left Dogs because he slept with one of the players missos and is known to have slept with a number of women... not his wife.
Gal - known user of peptides.
Joey - played his whole career high as a kite.

Probably as we are short on forwards right now we have a few out our depth is thin now.

I’d say with no reserve grade as well Bennett wants to give Mansour and Paulo a run in case we need them later on.

Alright lads, got my h2h qualifying final against 1st place this week, super keen.

Really need to focus on choosing the right captain this week to give myself the best chance to win, which is where I need some advice.

    My current options include:

Haas (opponent doesn't have), Angus (opponent has), Fifi (opponent has), DCE (opponent doesn't have), Mahoney (opponent doesn't have).

What way would you lads go?

Re Moses I’m very concerned. Teams know now what he’s carrying too so he will be targeted. Parra have a tough run home too. Maybe Moses won’t run or kick the ball as much in general play as well. He could come back for 1-2 weeks then have a flare up and be out again too.

For my team to get Cleary back I’d have to cash Hynes out to a 228k player and upgrade Moses to Cleary. It would mean I have red dots for my 20th and 21st man though and in a season of carnage I don’t think a squad of 19 is enough depth so I think I’ll forego Cleary. Tbh anyway I don’t think Cleary comes back in round 20 against the Storm they’d be mad too as the Storm would look to expose the shit out of him. I think Cleary comes back round 21/22.

I do have to trade Tohu out I’m thinking to Murray but concern is Murray will be managed a bit in the run home. I can’t afford Ipap. Other options are AFB, Lolo, Barnett or Lodge. I think I’ve narrowed it down to Murray or Lodge who would you pick out of those 2?

That leaves me 4 trades, I could trade Moses to Mahoney as well only leaves me 3 trades though and I want to do Hynes to maybe Ponga soon. For Ponga to really take off he needs Pearce there though I think not sure when he’s back. Then it I do that I’d have 2 trades the last 5 weeks.

Team before trades is (5 trades and 52k spare)

    Macca
    Angus Tohu Haas
    Fifita CHN
    DCE SJ
    Ramien Manu
    Teddy Turbo Hynes

    Walsh Schuster Brailey Olakau’atu
    Peachey Verrills Moses Suaali

So they reckon the trial will last 3 weeks. That puts us at Aug 16 if it is to start on July 26... meaning if found not guilty he could be playing by R23. Would be huge for their finals run.

The fact Manly re-signed him until 2023 surely means they either think he will be found not guilty, or don't care knowing they will be compensated anyways.

It is a very hard one. If BA says he was "close" to playing this week and if Moses ends up playing next week, it is hard to know whether BA is risking him knowing they have to win almost all of their run home to ensure a top 4 finish, or whether BA wants him at 100% to ensure he doesn't do further damage before the finals.

The fact he was "close" this week tells me they are maybe leaning more towards waiting until he is at least 95%... Next round puts him at 2 and a half weeks post Origin, for what's been said to be a 3-5 week injury.

In my case I think I would prefer Moses in my team over Fogarty.

Fainu has 2 younger brothers in the Manly system who both have huge wraps on them.
Fainu is also the reason Olakau’atu is at Manly.
I think that may be the main reasons he was re-signed.
I wouldn’t be expecting him back any time soon.

Decide if you are more likely to win or not by figuring out their probable lineup, then look at uniques and potential trades they will make.

(If you want to send me the URL of your matchup page, I can tell you how much cash and trades they have left)

If it's looking good for you, I'd try to pick the same captain as them to reduce variance - not sure what your opponents tendencies are but Fifita will probably be the most captained this week.

If you're going to get smoked, I'd captain DCE to increase variance.

If it's about even, make a high floor, high-ish ceiling play. Any of Fifita, Mahoney, Haas are fine (probably in that order for me) - DCE has an occasional 40 in him but has a great matchup this week.

Tough one... Murray now has Arrow back and Warriors are down players... especially senior ones so I can see Lodge and AFB being needed to step up!

It is a very close one... I can see Murray probably having the higher ceiling and higher floor but Lodge being a nice POD option..

    I would go Murray

For those asking about Cleary B/E etc, looks like MTBs site is using magic number of 12,000 for BE and 13,000 for price change projections.  By my calcs:

    > If MN is 13,000 his BE is 76.  If he scores 57, he'll lose $20k

    > If MN is 12,000 his BE is 99.  If he scores 79, he'll lose $20k.

MN has been much closer to 12,000

Your thoughts @wolfking would you go Murray?

I think I’m close to locking in Moses to Mahoney as well.

Jesus, feels a bit late in the season for teams to be allowed to add upper mid-tier players to their squad.

      Current date/time is Fri Nov 22, 2024 7:12 pm
