Would it be wiser to keep Moses or Fogarty going into next week? Bit of a toss-up.

I have given up trying to get Cleary in. It will take two trades to get him and a cheapy in or I can get Doueihi and Ponga (for example) in two trades.BCT05 wrote:With only 3 trades left I am at a real crossroads where I need to decide once and for all if I am going to get Cleary back in.
If I am then I will be having a real shite 18-21 (something like Kelly, Verrills, Hetherington, Roberts).
If I'm not then that can be strengthened along with an upgrade to my playing 17 (eg bring DCE in and SST/Brailey becomes 18th man)
The non-Cleary option certainly seems better on paper but even if Cleary averages 80 captained to 160 down the stretch, that will probably make more of a difference.
Seems like most people on here have plans to bring Cleary back, are there many that have just accepted that they won't be able to?

That is so true. I do think the Knights play better when Barnett plays 80 on the edge. We'll see if Watson starts at 13Milchcow wrote:

Okay… I think I will forego Hunt in my plans and grab Mahoney instead, who will probably outscore him anyways and is in a better team, at the expense of Fogarty.. Have also brought the Savage trade a week forward.
So this week I have done;
Fogarty + Savage > Mahoney + Hetherington + 632K 5(0) trades
Current squad after trades is now;
Mahoney
Lolo Haas AFB
Fifita CHN
SJ Hynes
Bird Burton
Turbo Teddy Walsh
Macca iPap Angus Schuster
Verrils Scritta KHeth Moses
Then next week I will go Hynes + SJ > Pappy/Ponga + Cleary + 3 trades to round out the year with this team
HOK: Mahoney
MID: Lolo Haas AFB
EDG: Fifita CHN
HLF: Cleary Moses
CTR: Bird Burton/Scritta
WFB: Teddy Turbo Ponga/Pappy
RES: Macca (HOK), iPap (MID/EDG), Angus (MID/EDG), Schuster (EDG/HLF)
EMG: Walsh (WFB), Verrils (HOK), Burton(CTR/HLF)/Scritta (CTR/WFB), Hetherington (HOK/MID)
Plenty of cover, 3 trades and by my calculations about 100K+ ITB.

Would pleased to squeeze one more round out of May & Hynes before cutting them lose next week.

When Bird is benched I'll need a cheap CTR as cover which I'll use to fund the Cleary trade. The Pascoe Fiasco wrote:

I was just stunned to find out Moses had a spine! Agreed, no fun if Parra can’t finish top 4 so we can then watch them go out in straight sets again! Get well soon!WT Winfield wrote:Formal apology to Mitch Moses for my shitposting last weekend. Dude's got a broke back.. If pain threshold is the main thing keeping him out, then I suspect his absence will be on the longer end.
If he's back next week, I'm gonna be forced to defend him every time someone calls him a cat
Get well soon Mitch. Watching Parra lose just isn't as fun without you there.

Looking at 2 options now:
Option 1: safe play
Rd19: Tohu > Hetherington
Rd20: Fog/Moses > Cleary + Hynes > Ponga (would play with 16 if Bird serves suspension this week)
Rd21: Bird > Staggs (if Bird out this round)
3/4 trades left depending on if I do the Bird trade
Option 2: risky play
Rd19: Moses > DCE
Rd20: Hynes > Ponga + Fog > playing CTR base price (or close to)
Rd21: Harris > Cleary
3 trades left
The first option I can guarantee that I can make work. The second trade I'm relying on there being a cashout available next week, and that Cleary doesn't beat his break-even next week. I could do a downgrade to Harley Smith-Shields this week, but that would mean I'd need the price gap between Hynes and Ponga to increase this week to bring forward the Cleary trade
Gee, how good does option 2 look?!
Hynes BE 45 and Ponga BE 92, reasonable chance the prices diverge further. Reasonable chance Cleary misses his BE too. But the saving grace is three trades left. If you are slightly short, you're bound to get another injury in the next couple of weeks you can slightly trade down to close the gap. In another words hope for the best but have a plan for the worst.

Moses is a tricky one. He is potentially back next week. Ive been planning to sell Turpin to Mahoney but Paix keeps dropping off the bench. Ive also got SJ and there are question marks over his fitness.
Even if Moses comes back next week does he go back to 60+ scoring? Will he run the ball with his injury?

Moses > Gutho
Rd20
Fog > Ponga
Hynes > Cleary
Leaves 4 trades.
Will have all of Teddy, Ponga, Gutho, Walsh, Latrell, Pappy in the starting lineup each week and hope one of them grabs a 70+ each week
Boom or busted

That is good! Definitely keeping him over Fog now. Hope he can come back fit. Maybe with the sore back he will just focus on racking up Kick Meters. Would probably rather Moses in my final team over Fogarty... Plus would have Schuster and Burton as half cover if needed.

Thank you kind sir!! Just on your WFB dilemma I actually like the To'o pick if it facilitates Cleary back in.
Ponga definitely has a higher ceiling but he does love an injury while To'o seems pretty bulletproof and will score consistently. There is a good chance they score the same over the remaining rounds (I'm probably going to go Hynes to Ponga when the time comes but only because I already have Cleary)
Thanks mate. Going to do some sums this arvo when I'm in the office but not sure if To'o's price will allow Cleary. Might have to be Mitchell. The extra 100K may be crucial.

How many hits will it take when teams target him to cause more issues though.
