NRL Fantasy 2021 Part 80 - Everyone gets a banner

SJ gone, Moses still out. Bird suspended.

I still have Hunt and Hynes to cover HLF and Schoupp for CTR but think maybe I should trade DCE in after all and still see if I can get Cleary somehow.

I only have 17 fit players this week and the hit in points doesn't worry me as much as the depth I'll have if I don't take the opportunity to trade SJ.

With Moses, Lodge and Bird out, I'm relying on one of Thompson & Kelly to play this week to field 17.

Assuming Thompson gets suspended I have 7 red dots this week

Looks like I am playing short

Only 3 trades left - so can trade in 2 cheapies and save last trade for Cleary, or just fuck it trade in the best guns I can afford and hope Cleary misses more weeks

Hope they don't go crazy with it. As frustrating as it can be, 2 trades a week is a completely different game. Managing trades is part of the appeal. If we could max trade I'd just grab DCE this week and straight swap to Cleary when he's back.

Lone Scout has had a flop year for his team. No wonder he’s calling for extra trades.

I think I can field a team if I double trade and play Verrils.

No SJ, Moses, Fog, AFB, To’o and Bird.

Sj’s gone, not sure which other. Probably To’o even though he joined my team last week.

Larger squad size would be an option too, but they have to change something. Its not fun when most weeks your trades are determined by what positions you need to field a team, rather than by the players you actually want.

Might just scrape a 17 together this week but will need Reynolds to play and no one else to be a late out.

Have 5 trades left. My plan has always been to flip SJ and Hynes into Cleary and Pappy/Ponga

Pappy and Ponga are both set to lose a tonne of cash this week and Cleary is 1 more week out, by accounts.

I have 17 fit players as we speak. Do I hold for a week and make my trades next week, or do I just forego Cleary and grab DCE and Ponga/Pappy (if late swap), this week?

15 before trades, probably 16 after for me.

Yeah not arguing that. Larger squad sizes my preference. Maybe a couple of extra trades, but not so many you get 2 a week.

I actually think the number of trades is fine at the moment. There were a bunch of times this year I traded where, in retrospect, I obviously shouldn’t have. It wasn’t a flaw in the game, it was me being far too short sighted and chasing a quick point/cash grab over something that would hold me in good stead long term. The game should reward people who think far ahead and plan for the unexpected.

Tempting fate, but 18 green dots before trades, 19 if Fog plays.

An update on AFB would be nice.

Running the numbers, I can do Macca/AFB to Cook, SJ to Ponga, and Hynes to cleary with 6k spare.

That feels a bit tight though, in case Hynes loses cash. Would hate to be a couple of K short of Cleary.

This is a good idea. They should make the squads 23, it gives the player base time to adjust for 2023 season when there will be a bye each week once the 17th team is introduced. Guess it would go to 24-25 person squads for that time.

unlimited 2 trades a week is just not good. really good for the casual who just chase last weeks score but not for the hardcore players

Two a week is too many, I think larger squads so you aren’t continually forced into trading to field 17 makes more sense, plus maybe an extra 4 trade week post bye rounds

Never been so happy to see Will chambers named

16 before trades, 17 if Fog plays. Will be burning 2 trades.

MOD'S LEAGUE UPDATE:

Last round before finals.
At the top of the table, it's Mulvy and Random who are jostling for the minor premiership.
Both have relatively easy matches this week: Random plays Welshy and Mulvy's got me
Mulvy has a ridiculous points differential which is no surprise given his overall ranking so really only needs the win to finish at the top whereas Random would need to win and hope that Mulvy loses.

At the lower end of the table there's still hope for No Worries who is sitting 2 points shy of 8th place.
As it stands Milchy sits in 8th but has a tough match up against MTB ahead.
No Worries needs a big win against Mighty Fishes and to cross his fingers that MTB can deliver a spanking and he might just sneak into finals if he gets the 355 point swing.

Flirted with the thought of trading Macca... how many more weeks of suspensions do the Dragons have? Is Clune hanging around just because they have no one else?
