951 for the week, dropped back slightly to 4,289th.  1 trade left, $225k in the bank.

Fair to say, the all in on Cleary didn't quite go as planned  Laughing

We can almost muster a decent team with Peachey, DCE, and Blore in positions 15/16/17.  Back-up in all positions except WFB.  Do we hold Mahoney for an emergency trade?  Or trade him out this week and hold on for dear life?

Mahoney to anyone, and without any WFB cover think it should be Mahoney to whichever WFB we think scores best for next month, so Ponga or Douehi or (if named) Papenhuyzen.

No rush imo. Will probably need a WFB, but maybe we get lucky and all 3 play out the season.

Knights play last this week, and Tigers last for the final 2 rounds, so Ponga or Doui would still be options mid-round for 3 of the remaining 4 if one's a late out. Cash isn't an issue either.

HLF or EDG could quickly become a problem too. Doui would help with WFB and HLF, but better to wait and see I reckon.

So five red dots now including Cleary?

    Cleary
    Mahoney
    Crichton
    Taumalolo
    Savage

Mahoney ---> Doueihi (WFB + extra HLF cover) if Cleary doesn't play otherwise play the 17 we've got and trade only when necessary.

If we aren't go to trade Mahoney (out for the season) in a week when we have less than 16 - when are we going to trade?

Ponga might be a better option than Doueihi. the HLF DPP isn't a massive help.

Otherwise Murray as perhaps best scorer we don't have. Maybe Josh Jackson

I think we're at 17 now if Cleary plays. Could argue that Peach + Verrills are only worth 1 though.

Mahoney to Ponga or Doui if Cleary's out again looks good. We probably should've banded together last week and picked one to avoid the Cleary situation, but is what it is.

picking Cleary probably wasn't the problem as much as locking him in as captain, which meant we couldn't do anything when he was confirmed out.  but it is what it is.

Will throw up the trade poll now.  Can ask whether to trade or not depending on if Cleary plays.

Yep, I made the mistake of voting all-in on Cleary because waiting meant Ponga was off the table. I under-estimated how popular Doui would be though until I saw the final result. Ultimately the not-Cleary voters won, but splitting our votes between Ponga and Doui shot us in the foot.

The other problem with all on on Cleary is that we traded out players who are green dots this week to do it.

I'm not going to criticise too badly a team that is ranked higher than my own, but I thought that was a poor choice
