Going to hard to start with both Cleary and Turbo you'd think.

I probably haven't learned my lesson, but paying for a $1m outside back to start the season will be difficult. Surely an average of 1.6 tries, 1.8 TAs and 1.7 line breaks per game isn't sustainable long-term? (Narrator: It was...)

I will probably be a sucker for punishment also and skip Turbo. I guess the early draws may add some value to the decision. I know you shouldn't take that into account but there's no denying what he's done purely against weaker opposition.

Turbo is on an insane form run though, scoring tries and setting up a ton. An off season could slow that down. He's not like Cleary where his base stats are always going to be huge. If it's one or the other it's 100% Cleary.

Turbo has done me good last few weeks, im still tempted to shift the C to DCE for a bit faux security.

Good Storm fullback moving into the halves at another club. Worry he could be like starting with Drinkwater last year.

Not too much value in getting Hynes next season I think

Hynes will be like Tino. Super popular after moving from Melbourne expecting a settled role but will have less points potential. Won't be in my team unless he gets a significant discount

Next year I really want good footballers in my side. It may not do amazing fantasy wise, but I want blokes like Lomax who are quality, despite the expense.

Counterpoint: Croker is shit and yet would have been a great cow if I (and many others) had been a bit more patient.

Yeah I would be backing Stefano to step up instead, based on his role, minutes and scoring. Future gun.

Good footballers at good teams is even better. Couldn't have gone too far wrong loading up on Panthers/Storm to start the season. Marginal choices like BSmith, RSmith, To'o, JFH would have been better than loading up with Wests Tigers, in retrospect. Manly players also, but who knew Manly would turn out good (which is why so many sold Croker)?

Lomax should be slightly underpriced next season, looking like a 38 average, but capable of 45.

Fair play to you mate. You called Stefan in the preseason, he's doing exactly what you predicted of him.

Was hoping that with trades in hand over the post origin period I’d be able to make a push for a half decent rank. Finished Round 17 with a rank of 9427 and heading into the final round I am ranked 9017.

So basically trades in hand has helped bugger all. Just get the best players.

I think you have to admit that Croker has been good this year, and I’m not just talking fantasy wise.

I have had Croker all year (I think I picked him as a backup who would play every week) and it still took me until about R15 to admit he was playable. His DPP definitely saved me a few trades at various points. I will never badmouth him again, despite the fact that Lawton is now eating his lunch.

Sometimes just playing every week is enough….

I really wish I didn't trade him. I had him last year and was disgusted by his performance. Tell ya what though, I was wrong to trade him. He really developed as a player this year, well done for holding.

@mattnz I always wonder how you are going with a very different strategy to most, do you mind sharing your rankings along the year?

I tend to hold trades so will never win but am usually green arrows from round 17 on.

Also does anyone know who won the Mods League, haven't seen any result......
