I see Klein is reffing the Souths v Manly game. That's going to go down well with someone on here.

Better than Atkins being our on field ref at least. Shame Atkins is in the bunker though.

Anyway we need to be good enough so if Atkins tries taking a fair try off us that it won’t matter too much.

Only 3 sleeps til Friday now. I’ll be sure to do a bumper epic Game Day preview come Friday the biggest of the year!

How you Kent's all getting on with vaccinations?

I had mine Sunday night within 2 minutes I was unconscious on the floor.

Ended up in hospital and been crook as a dog ever since.

Not looking forward to dose number 2 which is apparently worse. I have to book in to hospital to have mine given I had such a bad reaction first up. Fun times.

Geez mate that’s rough, did you have Pfizer? I had Pfizer and after the first one I wasn’t too bad just lethargic a headache and a low body temp. After the second on I was a bit worse with these kinds of symptoms and a killing shoulder and had a day or 2 off work but then was fine nothing major.

That’s not good mate at all that it knocked you around like that, if you dont mind me do you have any pre existing health conditions? I have a friend who does who had to have the vaccines in hospital so they could monitor her.

Let us know how you go after the second one mate, you never know it may not be as bad but at least you’ll be in the right place if things go a bit ugly. Thoughts and prayers are with you mate and your family.

From memory you are a Broncos fan so I dunno maybe reminding yourself the great Reyno is coming your way next year may cheer you up for a few mins when you feel so shit!

Damn man, that really sucks. Hospital think it can be managed better next time, maybe?

I had first jab about 7 weeks ago, got the AZ, because the whiz phiz wasn't available yet (i wasn't concerned which one I got, but at the time QLD Health were still telling people under 40 not to get/that they 'couldn't' get AZ.. i am near enough to 40 anyway lol).. I was mostly fine. Felt a bit shitty the next day but well enough to still go to work.

While there is no cases in QLD, i'll push out the second jab to the full 12 weeks for max effectiveness. If we do have an outbreak, I'll just go get it sooner.

I logged onto mygov recently to link medicare and check my details were all good, and my first Covid shot had been recorded incorrectly as a Hep B shot.. lol. Had to call the docs and get them to fix it. Worth checking that shit!

I personally haven't got it yet. I'm apprehensive still. I'll wait as long as I can truthfully.

I had a customer share a similar story as B/L's a couple weeks ago. No doubt these reactions are a reason for my hesitation.

I know I'll have to get it eventually I suppose, so lucky procrastination is one of my strong points.

I have tuned my body to foreign antigens over the years. Been double whizz phizzed since the end of July. 1st dose a little lethargic the next day and a sore arm if you poked it. 2nd dose a soe arm for a few days.

Hope you are feeling better B/L, doesn't sound like a fun experience

I have had both shots Pfizer and nothing worse than a sore arm. My friends and I are all mostly over 40 and we all got Pfizer before AZ was opened up to everyone.
Anecdotally I know a couple of people who had a bad reaction to AZ than Pfizer, but mostly that involved feeling sick and a fever, don't know anyone who had it as bad as you seem to have had it.

I wouldn't recommend anyone avoiding the vaccine, but if you want to be picky about what you get just avoid AZ and wait for a Pfizer or Moderna spot.
The risks of a bad reaction from AZ are still lower than the risks of getting a bad reaction from COVID so you are taking a gamble with your health either way.

    I hope you'll recover mate.
I know of to many people who had friends, family and collegues with adverse reactions or died after the jab, so it's a big No for me at the moment. I might consider taking Novavax next year when it becomes available.

My draft number has come up and I'm due the first Pfizer shot Friday next week. My immediate family has had theirs and no real side-effects afaik (they'll tell me anything though).

I didn't care which one I got, but it was them who put me on the pfizer list. I was just waiting til the day I could walk in to my local GP and get 1 shot and be sweet.

People around here having to travel 3 hour round trips per shot or wait months just made me think it ain't that big of a deal.. that or the government just doesn't give a fuck about us country folk Laughing

I tried MDMA but they haven't said that's on the approved list of vaccines.

Hope you're doing alright now B/L. I had my second dose last Tuesday and had to have three days off work. I couldn't breathe properly, just felt like I wasn't getting a full breath. Took me till Monday to feel human again

    Hope ur ok mate.

Did they say why u passed out specifically?

Pfizer ? When ubsay Crook as a dog, was that flu and aching type feeling ?

I've had 1st dose Pfizer, only felt tired the same day and slight aching arm. Can't even tell if it was tired from Vaccinne or travelling to the fucker.

Me and the Mrs both very hesitant to get the vaccinne and decided to give in and get pfizer, 100% could not lock it in on the coast so had to book at Olympic Park for last Thursday.
Then mate Sunday night we recieve an sms from Nswhealth telling us that someone with Covid was at the same Olmpic park centre on the day we were there and to pls monitor urself for symptoms!
Was quite pissed off given the want to avoid it and then have to travel to Sydney for the jab, and it in itself is what put us in close contact with a carrier. Seems ok though as neither of us have developed any symptoms yet.

Read alot about Pfizer being much better if the gap between jabs is more than 3 weeks, yet it is still tolled out here as a 3 week gap to 2nd one.. I dont get it. Why no Change up to a longer margin ?

I was hesitant too, but once the Delta strain hit Sydney I became much more hesitant doing basic things like shopping etc so booked in pretty quickly.
I had half day off work after my 2nd jab, and my wife had no time off at all.
I also had a few days (probably stupidly) feeling bulletproof in the days after the 2nd jab.

Got the vax, sack and crack and didn't really have much worse than a sore arm both times.
Had a slight rash and sore leg which I went to the GP about but he wasn't worried. Apparently he'd seen loads of strange but harmless rashes as the immune system reacts to the vax.

Better than getting delta any day. I've got a number of friends in healthcare and I don't envy their job at the moment or what's going to happen when we open up again and those still unvaccinated start filling up the hospitals.

the optimum time I think is between 8-12 weeks.

The idea of getting the jab earlier than that is getting the protection NOW rather than getting a small percentage better protection.

I chose to get my second dose after three weeks as the spread in VIC is pretty rampant and I am probably going to catch it when things start opening up.
Your immune system won't have that extra protection for 2-3 weeks after the second dose so if you're out and about with the risk of catching it before then, you're taking an extra risk.

Also as NW said, its the community effort to get to 80% double dose faster so that we can open up and start doing the things we all want to be doing.

I don't blame anyone for weighing up their own risk appetite but personally I would much rather have slightly lower protection from a lower gap between doses than chance catching COVID before second dose and definitely wouldn't want to be unvaccinated.

Yeah I had Pfizer. Initially I had really bad nausea and obvs face planted in the waiting room which caused me to be taken to hospital.

Since then it's just felt like a bad flu. I am working from home today but really struggling to stay awake in my chair. I couldn't even bring in the bins this morning and I have been consistently running 10ks a few times a week leading into this.
