I will say I'm not turning into anti vax or anything like that. I'll likely still get the second dose as I would be concerned what covid would do to me if I did catch it unvaccinated.

B/L Given your reaction, I'd be getting medical advice before getting the 2nd dose (and from a qualified Dr, not from Mr Internet)
I wouldn't be worried about being considered anti-vaxx. And its important others get vaxxed to protect people that can't get the vaccine due to reactions like that.

An awful situation to be in. Most of my family in Europe have had covid and all recovered. My mum (70+) was the only one who was bedridden for a week, but my brothers, sisters, in laws etc experienced it as a bad flu/cold. Some of my nieces and nephew lost their taste for a day or 2 but didn't have any other symptoms. My dad (70+) had a lingering cough for a while and was low energy for a month or so. But yeah, have a chat to your doctor as Milch said, get your bloods checked out. Better be safe than sorry.B/L wrote:I will say I'm not turning into anti vax or anything like that. Hope you're doing alright now B/L. I had my second dose last Tuesday and had to have three days off work. I couldn't breathe properly, just felt like I wasn't getting a full breath. Took me till Monday to feel human again
Wasn't so that you felt the need to go to hospital?
Nah didn't feel the need. It wasn't every single breath. I reckon every half hour I'd struggle to breathe for a couple breathes and then be alright. But it felt like someone was constantly laying on my chest.
Same deal as B/L I won't be anti vax as personally I think anti vax is how bigger problems occur. I didn't have a great reaction to it but at the same time I'm not the healthiest I've ever been either.

Booked to get AZ pretty much the day it was announced as available to under 50s
Had 1st jab back on July 4th then had 2nd about 6-7 weeks later
1st I had some side effects for about 30 hours but was sweet after that.
2nd dose didn't have a single side effect
Hearing about some of the side effects from COVID were enough to push me into it
Mate was one of the early cases in Australia and spent a couple of days coughing up bloods and chunks of his lungs. Reports of people having amputation of limbs, fingers and toes due to extended ICU stays. People claiming short term memory loss losing entire days. I was happy to take my 1 in 1 million chance of a blood clot to get it done ASAP

2 doses of pfizer for me and no issues other than the sore arm you get with all vaccinations and felt a bit sleepy the day after the second one but obviously everyone reacts differently to medications/vaccinations/treatments
The body is a strange & unique thing...i've only ever reacted to msg twice, both at the same restaurant 20 years apart (pity the food was super tasty)
COVID has now killed more people in the US than the Spanish Flu outbreak from 1918-21....wild

True story Bro .......to be honest when I was 24 I thought the reaction was an acid flashback, when I was 44 and it was a workday lunch not so much (no projectile vomiting involved)

I had mine Sunday night within 2 minutes I was unconscious on the floor.
Ended up in hospital and been crook as a dog ever since.
Not looking forward to dose number 2 which is apparently worse. I have to book in to hospital to have mine given I had such a bad reaction first up. Fun times.
Phuck bro that's rough. I hope you get well soon my bro. I had my 1st jab just had a sore shoulder like a deep bruise if you touched it. My wife had a reaction (she's on a lot of cancer drugs) she had a rash, swollen face, sore limbs & felt crook. The 2nd jab is in about 2-3 weeks & I'll be sweet but the specialist told her she will feel worse after the 2nd jab.

Did you see on the news that in Germany this nutter shot a petrol station employee because he didn't like it when he was told to put on a mask on.

Yeah sorry bad joke in the off-season, I'll warm yet.

Had the double dose of whiz pfiz and was totally sweet.
After my first jab, I actually had surgery and a decent sized melanoma removed from my scone that afternoon, so I had a pretty sore head for a few days, which I guess could have been either the vax or the surgery.
I didn't want to postpone either appointment but in hindsight, probably wasn't my smartest ever move......
After second dose, I was completely fine - slightly sore arm but nothing more than that.

Just to weigh in, I’ve had my two pfizers, I’m 34 and all I had was a lack of energy in the afternoon the day after my second shot. I think the fact that redid my irrigation in the front yard in the full sun was partly to blame

One time after giving blood I forgot about the 'no exercise or heavy lifting advice' and body-surfed for about two hours.
Could barely move my arm the next day

Double jabbed AZ, was really tired the day after the first one, had a daytime nap, all good within 24hrs. No side-effects to second jab. Beats catching the thing.

Yeah, i've got a friend who lives in London and a bunch of her friends and work colleagues have had COVID and a few have been reasonably bad. Jab is the way to go for sure.
She's also travelling in Spain at the moment... what even is travel ? Imagine that!

@B/L, sorry to hear you had such a bad reaction. Agree with Milch's suggestion to get medical advice before your second shot (and on the importance of everyone else getting vaccinated). Double Pfizer for me, fortunately no side effects.

Was in hospital for a few days after my first Pfizer shot. Heart was racing like I'd been on the bags for 24hrs straight. 2nd shot booked for middle October

@B/L , that's rough. I'm glad you're recovering. I guess on balance the risk from the vax is still less than the risk from COVID.
Pretty similar for me. I got the AZ due to lack of Pfizer, about one week before NSW suddenly was flooded in Pzifer. Close enough to 40 too. Minimal side effects. Had it scheduled 12 weeks, but with NSW being infested now got it pushed down to about 7 weeks now - 2nd shot will be next week.
I have heard AZ worst side effects are shot 1 and Pfizer shot 2?

Damn man, that really sucks. Hospital think it can be managed better next time, maybe?
I had first jab about 7 weeks ago, got the AZ, because the whiz phiz wasn't available yet (i wasn't concerned which one I got, but at the time QLD Health were still telling people under 40 not to get/that they 'couldn't' get AZ.. i am near enough to 40 anyway lol).. I was mostly fine. Felt a bit shitty the next day but well enough to still go to work.
While there is no cases in QLD, i'll push out the second jab to the full 12 weeks for max effectiveness. If we do have an outbreak, I'll just go get it sooner.
I logged onto mygov recently to link medicare and check my details were all good, and my first Covid shot had been recorded incorrectly as a Hep B shot.. lol. Had to call the docs and get them to fix it. Worth checking that shit!
