Just bouncing ideas around...the usual suspects are coming up in discussion here. Looking at Mids and the new scoring rules, if it's true that offloads have doubled (2 points up to 4) thoughts on Junior Paulo.
Played 21 games in 2021, ave mins 53, and 41 offloads. Surely at $569k there's some points to gain fpr the big fellah from Parra?

Offloads themselves haven't doubled, they're split into: effective to hand (4 points) and to ground/ineffective (2 points)

Paulo probably gains some points with new scoring but got 2 point bump on price so isn't really underpriced

Offloads that go to hand have doubled to 4 points
Offloads to ground are still 2 points.

If Supercoach scoring can be used as an accurate guide, a touch over 80% of offloads are effective.

Pricing should already take this into account. For most forwards, extra offload points are roughly equal to lost TB points so there shouldn't be a massive change either way. TPJ and Welch are 2 other forwards who people think might benefit from the new scoring.

Sucks for both the Tigers and our fantasy teams (and Blore himself, obviously)

That's very rough for the guy. Apparently the other knee from his first ACL.
I can't recall a time when a suspected ACL didn't end up being one - they're usually very good at identifying it in the first instance.

I don't know if it was posted, but young talent Harley Smith-Shields at the Raiders also went down with a season ending ACL yesterday

The discussion about HOK was yesterday with interesting. Currently, I have Grant and Randall, and I have gone cold on Cotter. It is just too hard to know whether we will play enough minutes to be worthwhile.

Another player that falls a little bit into that category but perhaps with a bigger upside is Brandon Smith. Assuming he gets the same or even a little more than the 65 minutes Finucane took at LOCK last year, he could average around 60?? or is that too optimistic?

DPP MID/HOK and priced at 678k for a potential season keeper. Do both Grant and Smith improve this year with ore positional certainty?

Usually when I search for a name in the player finder I stop after three or four letters, because thats all it ever takes to find anyone. But when I look up Will Penisini, I always make sure I type out the full Penis. We can’t all be heroes of maturity.

With Blore gonski (poor kid), I'm looking at other Edge options. With Capewell now a Donkey, what do we think happens to Martin's minutes? As a SOO rep, does he become an 80 min Edge this year? At $499k could be a good shot.

“The touchie gets it wrong often [and calls ‘forward’] because the ball is thrown and lands in front of the guy who threw it [even though it left the hands backwards]."

Ignoring that I'm super skeptical how either solution in the article would work to resolve that problem, I'm also gonna go out of a limb and say that when you mention "bad forward pass decisions" to the average punter, they're thinking of the 50 dummy half passes shovelled forward each match rather than the one that touchie might incorrectly call.

I am thinking Sorenson becomes last year's Martin, takes minutes off both Kikau and Martin

Well you got me hook line and sinker  cheer

I was quite happy as I was around the 5k mark mid season. I went better in 2019 & 20 though.

Hoping for a big year this year and back in the top 1000.
