Very highly mate. Just a bit difficult to see if the 600k on starting centres has upset your overall team balance with the TBD's in there.Loomer wrote:SI wrote:
Centres could be great, or be busted. Unlikely I know but if Maubbs ends up benched in a few rounds and BJ starts with one of his quiet runs, your centres could be netting you less than 50 points each week.
How do rate my 2RF?

That's not technically the SUG though, we started the open league from day dot, but will open the SUG in the next day or 2 (they will be PM'd).
May be called the FUG now as well , I think MF came up with that!
I prefer FRG - Fanatic Ranked Group and then we can have FOG - Fanatic Open Group next year.

Woods averaged 55 leading up to origin last year.
Had a couple of injuries post origin that saw his priced average drop to 49.
Had 3 consecutive scores of 3, 37, 22 where he got injured and then saw limited minutes returning from it. Ignore those 3 and his average is 55 for the year.
So all he has to do is not get injured and you will get value out of him. He doesn't need to improve on last year per se. Just maintain what he was putting up before injury.
Not massive value - but there aren't many people at that level who are hugely underpriced.
I'll probably trade him out for origin, but he is almost certainly in my team
Other option is James Graham who is also slightly underpriced when you take injury into account. But given he is already under injury cloud for this year I think I might pass to start with.
Other options other than James Graham is McGuire and Jack DeBelin. I had JDB in all my drafts but have recently gone Woods because he has way more upside I feel, and Dunamis Lui's form has been good in trials at lock.
Dragons just seem to have numerous middle range forwards. McGuire coming back from injury and in a stacked forward pack is a wait and see for mine. Graham will be great if never injured/knocked out.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 7
Looking back through notes of last year to take into this year was one that stuck out for me.
- Value is found in the new 80 minute 2RF's and not the possible increased role in the middle of the field (except Mannering last year). Can't think of many 80 minute locks these days. To sum this up think T Harris vs Finucane last year. I went with Finucane over Harris and stuffed up big time. Also missed Frizell, G Stewart, E Lowe and others of note.
That's why I am tempted by players this year such as Aubo, Cartwright, Whitehead, Rochow (underpriced), Taia (may be priced about right), Lawrence (not in my team as he is made of glass).
If I go through the teams I rule out Cowboys, Broncoes, Warriors, Sharks, Storm, Eels, Dragons
Who is going to be the 80 minute man at the Rabbitohs or will that be Surgess from the outset? Who will get the other 2RF spot Grevs/Turner??
What about the Sea Eagles 80 minute man? Sea Eagles are probably a wait and see due to injuries.
There could be some value in someone at the Bulldogs, Jackson has origin and is pretty much already their 80 minute man. Will be interesting to see who gets the starting gig out of Lane/Williams/Tim Browne.
At present I have picked out Aubo, Cartwright, Whitehead and Rochow as my best options and in my team. Is there anyone I may have missed?

If the 3 NPR cost 130k leaves me 752k for HOK and FRF and Hodgson if no Baptiste named and Sue are on my mind. I had planned on getting Mooper or Dragons forward so Leilua would be first to get downgraded. Other possibility go cheap in FRF as well and get CS9+Lichaa

Rochow doesn't inspire me. Averages career mid 30s playing 80 mins. Bumped up to 40 in injury affected 5 games last season but included try and 2 assists. Is he going to get career best 5 tries and 10 assists to carry that 40 average? I don't think so

To me he is similar to Chris Lawrence then. Will struggle to average better than 35. Not worth having?
Would I be better to pick Tim Grant for cheaper and move LAM into my second row? Any others cheaper than Rochow that you see as better?
Another question: 1 or 2
1) Tim Grant + Jordan Rankin
vs
2) Rochow + Parcell/Cherrington

I had Rochow in my team a couple seasons back when he was playing 80 and from memory he was scoring 40 pretty consistently. Could be wrong though

The Claw averaged 44.85 at 2RF last season 11-19 included 3 tries but only 1 LB and 5 TBs

Good work Warriors.
Whoever partners Sutton will be at least worth a look.
I think Lewis Brown might be one in for big minutes at Manly. EPspecially if you want a solid centre option and don't trust Aubbo.
NAS I think might be a trap, a'la Finucane of last year, but Hinchcliffe used to play big minutes from the bench and he is not there anymore so someone might pick up.
Sadly I think T-Rex will get the job at the dogs, even though its not a great move for fantasy players or bulldogs fans.

I've got CLaw at centre. He's priced at about 31 vs 34 for Rochow. As far as I can see from the spreadsheet, after CLaw moved to the forwards he played 7 games before getting injured at an avg of 45. So I see more potential CLaw than Rochow if he stays healthy.

I did the exact same thing. Finucane ended up in my side all year and never got Tohu. I missed Glewart Round 1 but grabbed him Round 2 or 3 in the end. Never had Frizell in 2015, even though I had him in the 2 previous years where his low points games outnumbered his good ones.Warriors wrote:Looking back through notes of last year to take into this year was one that stuck out for me.

If the Storm weren't running with a 4 forward bench I'd be tempted by the Lord Dale trap again.Milchcow wrote:

Bringing The Claw in at Round 12 (I think) was one of the few things I got right last year.Loomer wrote:The Claw averaged 44.85 at 2RF last season 11-19 included 3 tries but only 1 LB and 5 TBs
