With skd back at court is there a chance he misses any games and Mitchells spot becomes more secure?

How do we see the Raiders' prop minutes going without Shillington? FPN and Lima both limited minutes players, Boyd might go up a bit but he's still a big old lump - as far as I can see Vaughan is the only one capable of 50+ minutes unless Soliola moves up.

Doesn't seem like a particularly damning case is mounting against him. If he does miss any games it won't be for long. Mitchell's first grade spot is his to lose though, as long as he keeps up some good form he'll stay there.

Boyd is capable of more minutes then most people credit him (After our trial a lot of fans on the GH have been actually naming him to start, didn't see the game though so not sure why). Soli will likely spend time at prop and quite possibly Tapine after a few weeks. I've got Vaughan in my team as I am guessing he gets a few more minutes (and I hope to see him play 50-60 from a fan POV), however like the rest of the pack it really is a lucky dip. Tbh looking at the makeup of what our pack might be at its strongest, minutes for each and every player there might end up changing week to week depending on how the game is playing out and who the opposition is. As much as I love stacking my team with green, there are probably much better (easier to predict & reliable) teams to pick your forwards from this year.

I may be bias but Boyd looked on fire in the trial and I am pretty sure he played a large amount of minutes. Boyd also was really impressive in general when he was on the field so I hope he gets big minutes.

Read these stats on Whitehead the other day

Played 80 mins every week for Catalans
top 10 tacklers in the Super League last year
making 937 tackles at just over 40 per game
running for 97 metres per contest with 11 tries and 11 try assists

Definitely in my team if he gets a starting spot Very Happy

I mean with Fensom, Papalii, Soliola and Tapine there.. Will he get the 80 minutes?

he is a great player but with that riaders backrow he is not set on the 80 which is the big problem

I am a huge fan of Whitehead, have been since his Bulls days! and will be in my team is he starts playing the 80, might wait a few rounds

also note that he does have a fairly decent missed tackle rate from my SL memory

Thanks, that's good to hear from someone outside the GH! I rate Boyd very highly and would love for him to get big minutes. Fantasy wise he could become really valuable as he has the ability to score and the mongrel to break a heap of tackles on the way. The longer we can have both Boyd and Vaughan on the field together (without hurting there effectiveness) the better.
Depending on how our other prop options go I wouldn't mind both starting but for the beginning of the year I think its a little risky to have FPN + one other (potentially Lima) come on. I think we would lose all our momentum and could see a game shift because of it.

I haven't finished with it yet, might leave it and try tomorrow.

The last team that I posted is on p22. There was another one before that which Welchy scored me on.

Yeah I think i remember being a little worried about the missed tackles when his stats were first posted (we have a few edge defence problems without him Sad ). Showed some silky smooth hands in the lucky try he set up in the trial (highlights on youtube) and I think he might get actually be starting come rd 1 but whether he gets 60-65 min or 80 is another story. I think he might still be worth it on 65 minutes though its a much bigger gamble in that case.

Whitehead might miss a few tackles, but he's also know for breaking a few... hopefully he'll be able to get descent minutes... but yeah the raiders do seem to have many options in the backrow... I guess we'll find out next week

I mentioned Whitehead back in the sportal days as one of the few guys in the SL who would have a decent impact in the NRL, honestly think he will have a big impact for the Raiders and glad they grabbed him, brilliant ball playing back rower, great offloading game

100% true mate just indicating a potential pit fall for a few less points

In saying that LAM had a really high missed tackle % in 2014 and ended last year with one of the top successful tackle % rate Very Happy

If anyone paid attention to the world club challenge games on the weekend, you know what you can do with those whitehead predictions.

    Sam Tomkins springs to mind.
