Think if Gilbert gets the 2RF spot it will just be for the start of the game till Luki comes on. Not sure what effect that has overall

Mann over Peach. Bird has been ruled out of the All-stars game achilles. Sorry for spam.

If that is the case I would assume Gilbert with then go into the middle

The Sharks will challenge McInnes love of tackling.

Why? Because he's in a fantasy draft? They have Lolo, McLean, Hess, Cotter, JTB, Dunn.

No idea what Payton is going to do with his pack. Didn't at the Warriors, don't at the Cowboys. Looking at that list of names, only one of them is  so htop-classopefully he's the guy who gets the minutes, but wouldn't bank on it.

HTF is sort of interesting, but not sure how much the Cowboys will be playing on the front foot. A gamble but huge upside for a much more developed player than he was in 2020 when he burned us.

Most likely but not sure that’s a good thing. I.e that he in turn gets huge mins.

Missed the chat over the last few hours:

Berry: looks a really good prospect in real life, think he'll nail down a place in the team, if he's the next Whare then the Warriors will be happy even if fantasy coaches aren't. Not even thinking about him for fantasy, especially not over Crichton with his fanhub fat-fingers discount.

Also agree that SJ isn't necessarily good for his centres, with cut-out to wingers or crash balls to 2rfs more likely. Who's on the right edge, Aitken or Curran/Katoa?

Because if he is starting youd hope they won’t waste an interchange on a high work rate player to bring off. McLean avg 40 mins last season. Depending on the time of interchange, if after 20-25ishmins luki comes on as first prop rotation Gilbert into middle and luki onto edge. Rather than wasting an extra interchange bringing a still mostly fresh Gilbert off.  Not saying he is guaranteed to start but if he does this makes sense if they were bringing luki on early.

All i think every time i see the name is that (annoying AF) Silento song from a few years back (had to google who sung it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjW8wmF5VWc&ab_channel=SilentoVEVO)

All indications are that Gilbert is the first picked for a big minute tole on the EDG this year with Nanai among others in line for the other spot. No reason to suggest that he will shift to the MID

Gilbert feels like one of those guys I pick because he'll be safe and play big mins but ends up scoring in that awkward 'hold too long' zone.. while a young fella on the other edge plays 50 mins per game scoring tries every other week for a 55 avg.

Nanai played 80 minutes on the EDG for a score of 40, then a 70 minute or so game for a score of around 27. I think he is priced appropriately. An 80 minute Gilbert is well undervalued, especially if he has been put there with a defensive focus in mind

Defending next to Drinkwater in what might well be a bottom 4 team may not work out so well

Ill probably have Gilbert, i assume. Right up my alley

Sharks have been comfortably worst for MT since 6 again (both 2020 and 2021)

McInnes is not a fan of missing tackles

Nanai was 18 playing big minute edge in a terrible Cows team. Not surprising that he gave up 7 missed tackles in a game that Manly put 40 on them. Has been the stand out player in preseason training for them.

Must have a big engine on him, twice played 80 minutes when named as prop in QLD Cup
