Hi haven't made a team this year yet and maybe I won't but just a few questions.

With nerfs to kick metres and tackle busts, are HLF's less appealing or is it considered only a small deduction to their overall output? Same question for Teddy and Fifita as they are the junk point kings of tackle busts.

Second with offloads that are successfully taken in hand upped to 4 points, does someone like TPJ become a top option?

    That's all, thanks.

Cleary is still king, but not quite as far ahead as he was.

Teddy and Fifita will lose a bit but so will everyone so they'll still be guns I think.

TPJ is definitely a good option but the main risk with him is the loading he already has with the judiciary, he does anything and he's out for 3+ weeks

Prices have been adjusted to cater for the reduced kicking/TB points. So on some level it doesn't really matter. Besides Cleary, the halves people are most interested in are rookies/ones changing role this season so have prices least affected by the change.

For a lot of forwards reduced TBs + increased offloads roughly cancel each other out.

TPJ should benefit from the offloading change, but for many there are concerns about suspension risk
Christian Welch is another who becomes attractive with the changes.

I've never found Welch attractive... maybe he's not hairy enough?

On "the menu". I'm pro-Leniu, was always on my order. I'm just been pointing to the menu and pretending I can't pronounce his name rather than saying it out loud to the waiter.

I just don't see enough value to get 4-5 mids without other compromises (e.g. 2 MID guns), and outside of Bullemor I can't see a cheap one I like more than Leniu

I currently have Haas/TPJ/Uto/Bullemor/Leniu. I've had to chuck in Haas as a gun because I don't see who else is good at MID. Was on Mann, but not convinced. Leniu would be in emergencies, at least for R1.

    My rationale for Leniu is:
*Capewell is gone. Don't think Sorenson is on his level and will demand the same minutes
*I don't think Leota is ever going to be a big minute player.
*Eisenhuth is a plodder and I don't think will demand a larger role
*He's a good player, I'd rather take a punt on him than journeymen like the King's

Worst case - he does nothing and becomes one of my early trades to right the ship.
Likely case - he's a 35 minute player (+/- 5) - which is enough for coin goat status
Best case - he's one injury away from being a sub-gun, and I laugh in the 45-50s before upgrading to a genuine gun.

Irritating. It's not being rescheduled and there were quite a few on my watchlist in that (Fermor, Clark, the Brimson/Sexton split, Katoa, Vailea, SJ)

I’m not having a shot, because that was my reaction too, but it is a kinda remarkable thing about hobbies - the degree to which we see the world through a Fantasy lens.

Event: People are dying in Lismore

Response: That’s awful, was Fermor starting?

Fuck I knew it was bad there but not that bad. Is it as bad as the flood they had about 20 years ago?

Yeah, it turns out that 100 year floods are coming about every 20-30 years now, and breaking records when they do. Most deaths seem to be because of driving into floodwaters, but probably not all. Poor beggars.

A lot of people are going to find their homes uninsureable across QLD, and will suffer each time this happens. Going to be tough.

People in Nth Qld already pretty much can't insure their houses.

My suburb flooded in inner Sydney last Tuesday, which was a bit surreal, but small compared to this.
