Missed the last thread so apologies if very late to the party, but Ben Hunt a decent option? Any reason he doesn't kick the piss out of it in that spine? Hadn't looked at him with Cleary locked in but seems a decent shout to average 60+ for under 700k. Or am I being optimistic?

I thought id be excited to create a squad, but i am not. Might just set a captain and vc and sort the rest out on friday

Don't like only having 13k and no clear path to Cleary though. Maybe it's a case of downgrading Burton to Vailea or something like that and leaving the money in the bank.

Are people going to set a VC on the Thursday game to reduce locked out players - was set on it when Cleary was going to play as both C & VC were playing Thursday but not so sure now

Usually the play for R1 is to set VC on Thursday player you are set on (e.g. Crichton)

Is footystatistics down for anyone else

I currently have the VC on Haas (I don't have any particularly good players on Thursday) and the C on Cheese (no Grant and the Tigers middle defence is notoriously lazy)

Nah, Robson plays out of his skin for 80 minutes ala Mahoney last year, to keep him off the bench.

Are there fewer 'must-haves' than previous years?

Looking at my current team, Randall, Crichton, and Pap are the only ones where I wouldn't consider anyone else.

Coates high ownership but can see the argument against it, Illias close based on ownership %, but could go Schneider/Amone/Walters instead if you wanted, same with Tago/Penisini/Paulo/Smith/Vailea etc or Luki/Tuilgai/Katoa/Bullemore/Fermor etc all good options, but with so many in the similar price bracket maybe not 'must have'.

Was getting 50ish minutes off the bench at the back end of last year but those Raiders starting middles look like primed to spend a lot of time on the field with three middles on the bench.

Definitely an option but I think I'd rather Moses personally
