Yeah, massive ask to throw Cherrington in at 80.  No Luani is a bummer although from what I can see no-one else has actually picked Luani up yet.

Round 2 is pretty clear cut with Halatau back but yeah Round 1 will be a dog's breakfast.  I saw somewhere else that Rankin could be an option.  He could be the new age Blake Austin for us  Very Happy .  We have plenty of very mediocre outside backs to fill in for Rankin Crying or Very sad So maybe:

    Grant
    Cherry
    Woods
    Siro
    The Claw
    Sue

    Rankin/Liddle
    Ava
    Buchanan
    Lovett

Although Lovett could start in the backrow freeing up Sue to play prop instead of Buchanan.  I actually hope Rankin does get the job and Chee Kam gets a start at centre.  We need something menacing in the backline.

This Aloiai kid seems to have come from nowhere and Rod Griffin doesn't seem to be tracking that well as not really coming into contention anywhere.  Got a feeling Buchanan gets the nod over both of them.

Please not Buchanan he offers nothing. I hope like you said Sue starts at lock and then goes in the prop rotation. Griffin not doing well and i think we have already released Billy Mac. The other place you read about Rankin i think i was the author so there is no substance to the rumour at all just pure speculation on my behalf.
Oh yeah, I think it was actually.

Agree on Buchanan, did a solid job in 2013 when we had no-one left to turn to, but has shown nothing since.

wicks would likely push for a spot?

Think Paulo went to Sharks if I remember correctly.

When wicks is fit (round 2/3) I guess he will come into contention for the Alvaro/Terepo spot and probably grab it.

There doesn't seem much depth at Lock except Moeroa/Edwards and I guess Gower at a pinch. Think I have locked Moeroa into my team.

If anyone's interested Nathan Brown declared that playing Feeney at fullback is no gamble and he backs him to improve week to week.

    Latest team is

    Smith, Parcell/Cherrington
    Woods, LAM, Evans, Blaw
Merrin, Cartwright, Whitehead, Moeroa, NPR, NPR (Probably Benry and VLeuluai)
    DCE, Hastings, Taylor, Jnik
    Croker, Aubo, CScott, Gutherson
    Tedesco, Gordon, Barba, Mitchell, Feeney

Will stay like this until team list Tuesday. Just waiting on where Barba is named and which hooker to choose. Hoping Merrin and Mitchell pick up DPP. Liking the look of it.

Played 11 80 minute games last year out of 18.

    Others were 52, 76, 56, 68, 70, 14 and 41.

thanks, i was being lazy Smile

i guess the worry for moeroa is edwards, if scott and mau both play 80 or close to.

you'd think parras lack of good props means they have 4 in rotation.

Moeroa only played edge last year, this year he looks like moving into the middle where he is best suited. In the trial he did spend some time out on the right edge again with Scott moving into the middle so its tough to tell how BA is going to work it. I would assume they will rotate 4 frontorwers (Paulo Mannah Alvaro Terepo) then have Edwards come on for Moeroa but its then possible we will see Scott into the middle at stages before he gets a rest and Moeroa comes back on with either him or Edwards going into middle. I have no idea if Peats and DeGois will make 1 late swap or 2 through out the game. Its all to hard to tell haha

Last 6 bar the 43 min game Moeroa averaged around 35 tackles 2 missed and 100m run. How will playing in middle affect his stats? Less run metres? Tackles pretty high for edge player

Just flip a coin for the first week mate. Although are the sharks in townsville? Could be energy zapping heat for the first game

Both will play restricted minutes in round 1 so I like neither. Why don't you drop 1 of them for Smith & captain him.

Are we all just assuming Watmoughs gone?

Think there's some confusion betwern Junior and Joseph Paulo. Hes rumoured to be going to the raiders but still at parra
Junior is the beasty prop. joseph is the ballplaying shitty lock. He's gone to the sharks.

    Junior paulo mannah wicks alvaro

Scott watmough mau all are big min players plus moeroa then kenny Edwards and potentially de gois

None of the options in the parra pack seem appealing with this in mind?

    I want Lichaa and Hodgson.

Stuff it. Lichaa to Smith, Fifita to Surgess, Parker to Merrin.

    Cam Smith's season averages

    2013: 70.7
    2014: 65.7
    2015: 61.3

    Will the downwards trend plateau?
    For comparison

    Fifita
    2013: 63.4
    2014: 60.5
    2015: 60.8

    Parker
    2013: 64.0
2014: 54.7 (aka the Hook years)
    2015: 62.5

    Gallen
    2013: 57.3
    2014: 64.6
    2015: 59.9

It's on the NRL site, apparently they are only rumours, Watmough is saying that he will not be retiring.
